HI Ruskie

Glad you found your "imaginary" family.

Are you still wanting some help though with the searching for the family?

Sam  32  bn Hudds

?????? 33 bn Thurstone

Doris 5

Marian 2

All children bn in Hudds

Cant make out the first name of the wife but I have found a marriage for Sam Kilburn to a Serena Crossland in 1891.  Looked back for a Serena Crossland bn in Thurlstone as per the above lady and it tallys.

Margaret,

Put the flags out I have found the elusive Correct Charles Poole with wife Annie Poole nee Prince in the 1881 census in Herefordshire,

Charles Poole bn circa 1845 Stoke Edith, Herefordshire Occ Spade Tree Turner

Annie Poole bn circa 1852 Bromborough, Cheshire

Maude Poole bn circa 1875 Asperton, Herefordshire

George Poole bn circa 1877    ""          ""

Mary Poole bn circa 1879        ""          ""

Harold Poole bn circa 1881            ""          ""

Why I didn't do it in the first place I don't know. In my search all I put was Charles and Occupation of Wood Turner the one above jumped out and look he had a wife too and called Annie YEAH!

Why they hadn't shown up before in my search was becasue I had only concentrated the search county to Yorkshire.

That'll teach me, LOL

I know it's the correct one because I followed him back to the 1851 census which shows him to have a brother called Thomas who was bn in 1842 same birth place .  He too lived in Herefordshire in the 1881 and had the same Occ

And guess what?

In the 1891 census Thomas and his family were found to be living in Heeley at 142 Prospect Road.

Now in the 1891 census at 11 Sheaf Bank (if only  I could do an address search this would have been half sorted by now)

Maude E Poole 1875 is shown as being Daughter but she is head of house as well but has been shown as bieng the daughter to the family above her in the transcription see the ref below.

for REF RG12; Piece: 3812; Folio 43; Page 3

Not sure yet where their mother Annie is in the 1891 but by the 1901 census she is re-married to a Henry Taylor bn circa 1853 Retford Notts.

Margaret

If so what was her father occupaition?

My memory is like a sieve and I can't see the wood for the trees, Lol

Margaret

I did try loking for an Annie Poole regardless of age or where born in the 1881 but none stand out.   I also looked for an Annie Prince in the 1871 again nothing,

Weird, unless this Annie Prince was a Widow when she married the elusive Charles Poole and she had another name in the 1871!

If you do decide to obtain that Prince / Poole marriage cert and want help searching for them both, please let me know.

Ok.

So would you be willing to splash out a little money?

Would you obtain the marriage cert of this Charles Poole and Ann* Prince just to see how old each of them were to tally with your thoughts and feeling on this man?

It may be your only way of knowing if the Charles Poole was the same man or not.

HI Margaret

Just thought I'd post my latest finding for you

1891 in Amwell, Clerkenwell Middlesex is this family

Walter Rogers bn circa 1842 Sheffield Occ Metal Polisher

Ann Rogers bn circa 1846

Herbert Rogers bn circa 1876 Occ Metal Polisher

Percy Rogers bn circa 1879

George Rogers bn circa 1883

Elizabeth Rogers bn circa 1885

Emily Rogers bn circa 1886

This family bears an uncanny resemblance to Anne Rogers who was with Walter and her Wright chidren in the 1881 census.

Is it your Annie?  Alices' mum

Hi

When was your relative Thomas Joy bn and where?  Just so we can check for you that they are not distantly related to the Joy - Turner triangle
