Have now found them in the 1851 census in Scotland as was first predicted

You  may have better luck on the Scotlandspeople site for an image

They are in Peterhead Aberdeenshire address shown as Buchanness St House

John bn circa 1800 in Panbride, Forfar Occ Principal Lighthouse Keeper

Jane bn circa 1806 Pencaitland, Haddington East Lothian

Isabella bn circa 1832 Bride, Isle of Man

Jane bn circa 1839 Bride, Isle of Man

Margaret bn circa 1842 Bride Isle of Man

Elizabeth bn circa 1845 Peterhead, Aberdeen

Sarah bn circa 1847  Peterhead, Aberdeen


William Middlesmiss bn 1796 Garinton, Berwick  Visitor Occ Inspector of Public Works

Did you try looking in the Overseas section of the death registers on the official GRO site?

I know war death are registered in that section so you never know.

HI

When the search is performed I choose just Yorkshire which covers all the ridings.

I even tried born all counties.

I try to limit the amount of info with in the search to give me a wider choice of people to look further into.

Now when I entered on the 1851 census that I wanted to look for a Charles bn circa 1848 with a dad called George there was one but he was born in Shropshire.


And here is the details for that one


George fawcett bn circa 1816 Derbyshire Occ Travelling Bookseller

Ann Fawcett bn circa 1827 Shropshire

Charles Fawcett  bn 1848 Shropshire

There were Charles's born in the right year and in Yorkshire but dad was not George.

On the death cert does it by any chance state what Georges Occ was?
