World War One / Frederick PARRY - Confirmation of unit PLEASE
« on: Sunday 06 December 15 03:09 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

Attached are two photos of Frederick Parry of Rochdale.  I think he was in the RAMC and I would like some expert eyes to confirm that for me please, or not ;)  No service or pension record to be found but two MIC for Frederick Parry's serving in the RAMC.

Thanks

World War One / Identification of Medal & Badges etc
« on: Wednesday 11 November 15 23:13 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
Could someone have a look at the three soldiers in this photo and try to identify the medals, badges and sleeve markings please to help me work out which brother is which.

They served in WW1, one was in the Royal Engineers (I think I have worked out him), the eldest was in the RASC and died in France 1915 and the other in the Kings Own Royal Lancashire Reg & the Welsh Reg.

Thanks

Bob

Hi

These are four brothers that need a clean up please.  I would say it was taken around the end of WW1 in England.

If anybody sees this who knows about uniforms I would appreciate an interpretation of the various sleeve and shoulder markings please.  If not I will post it elsewhere whan it is cleaned.

Thanks

Bob

Australia / Robert Clarence Keith KENNY/KENNEY - Info please
« on: Monday 19 October 15 06:44 BST (UK)  »
Hi
I've looked everywhere for info about this person but no cigar.  All I have is his birth cert, he was born 13 Apr 1894 at Murrabit in northern Victoria.  His parents were Frederick William KENNY  (sometimes KENNEY) and Rose Annie nee MASLIN.  I can find no record of a death or marriage.  He was the last of six children to this couple and his mother was committed to an asylum in Jan 1895 when he was less than twelve months old.  Of the three surviving children (inc Robert) one I know of was brought up by John Richard Maslin Rose Annie's brother.
Just hoping someone can help unlock this mystery please.

Cheers

Europe / Danish Family - Help needed to find them
« on: Wednesday 19 August 15 12:18 BST (UK)  »
Hi

We have this family that seem to disappear of the face of the earth.

Christian Petersen DAHL/DALL  b1849 possibly Denmark, married widow Marie Christine (or Christina Maria) ANDRESEN nee HERSE in 1879 in Lojt.  Marie had four children to bring into the marriage, they were:

Johannes b1870
Adolph Christopher Andreas b1872
Marie Dorothea Laurine b1873
Claus Jacob b1878

All christened in Lojt

The last mention of the two adults is in the death register of Marie Christine's father Andreas HERSE in 1883 where they are noted as living in Taulov, Vejle.

We have searched everywhere we can think, Danish records, migration records, census records etc.

We would be really pleased if someone could make fools of us by pointing out something bleeding obvious that we have missed. :) :-[

Thank you

Bob & Helen
