Family History Beginners Board / Re: Organisation
« on: Thursday 05 November 20 09:03 GMT (UK)  »
Thankyou for your replies.

It is a daunting task sorting through everything but one I feel I must do as starting again.

I think I will revert to FTM as I am familiar with it.
And yes I am recalling facts as I go along.
It’s really exciting again to go over everything and hopefully get a bit further.
This winter is the perfect time I think.

Thanks guys 😃😃

Family History Beginners Board / Organisation

Hi
I apologise if this is repetition, but I used to do a lot of research (more than 10 years ago) and I am wanting to get back into it.
I have several questions:
is it worth investing in a database package? I used to use Family tree maker or is an online paid website good enough?
How do I organise all my documents?  Is it worth scanning them to add to the digital tree?

I am starting again as I don't have my original work and it feels a bit overwhelming as I will need to go back over it all.

Many thanks

Hello. I wonder if anyone would mind doing a ************** birth lookup if this is allowed?
Thx

Hi
Thank you for this.  I agree that this looks like the lady on the right. That date would tie in with this as the young girl was born in the late 1890’s and looks to be younger than 10. So I suspected it was about 1906/7.
Thank you very much for this information.

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Help dating photos Dorothy Walkey

Hi
I think I have photos of my 2xgreat grandparents. But dating these photos would give me more evidence that I think it is them.
I want to know an approx date for the two single photos. If I’m right then the group photo is the woman and girl when they are older. I know where and when the group photo was taken.
My ggrandmother was Dorothy Walkey. Her mother was Ada.

Many thanks

That's great, thanks so much. I had seen he was an innkeeper, looking into which inn!

Thanks, I hadn't found that.
With regards to the spelling, would that be just a transcription error?

Many thanks
