Staffordshire / Edwards 1900 Walsall / Pelsall
« on: Friday 21 January 05 19:23 GMT (UK)  »
Hello would be interested to contact anyone who connects to the Edwards family from Pelsall area. My nan -in - law descends from a Minnie Edwards who was born in 1900 to Albert Edwards. Albert and his family were very well known in the locality.

Minnie had many siblings two names (off the top of my head): Clara, Jabez. Minnie married a James Flaharty an irish man, they had no children but Minnie gave birth to a baby in the late 1920's which she kept for 6 months until she gave the child up.

I have made contact with one of the family a few years ago, but would be interested in any other individuals who find something in this detail of interest. I can give fuller information if required.

Shortly in July 2005 the new Swansea Waterfront Museum will be opening its doors to the public. The emphasis with this museum is to focus on local history with a strong interest in how people years ago survived and shaped our lives today.

Glamorganshire Lookup Requests / 1891 Census help Morriston Landore Swansea
« on: Tuesday 21 December 04 12:06 GMT (UK)  »
Looking for 1891 Census information for my G-Grandmother Mary Catherine Hawes.
& any Hawes in Morriston / Landore Swansea in 1871 also.

Mary Catherine Hawes was born September 6, 1889 in 352, Plasmarl Landore Swansea South Wales to parents John Hawes and Ann Evans (She may have had a brother also named John?) Mary Catherine Hawes does not seem to be on the 1901 census, searched the U.K, and there are no matches for a Mary Catherine Hawes born in Swansea / Clase / Morriston, therefore I am hoping this part of Swansea in 1891 has been enumerated.

There is a Mary Catherine Hawes (too old to be my G-Grandmother) who was 33yrs in the 1901 census, she was born in Swansea and lived in Swansea in 1901 (Dressmaker), she is not mine & although all the Hawes I have found in the Morriston region link to mine this one doesn’t seem to tie in anywhere.

My G-Grandmother remained in Swansea throughout her life even after her marriage to Richard Thomas Park. She was buried in October 1946, Morriston Cemetery Swansea
Funeral: October 23, 1946,

I have all the 1841/51 & 61 Census information on the Hawes of Morriston Swansea,
but I would also be interested in any Hawes census entries in 1871 & 1891 I have my Hawes line back to 1796 majority of the male Hawes were named John, there were quite a few Samuels and Williams also.

Merry Christmas to all! ;)

Glamorganshire Lookup Requests / Horrell Cardiff 1891 Census look up PLS
« on: Monday 20 December 04 11:12 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to locate an Albert Charles Horrell c. 1879 Cardiff.

He later married a Sarah Worner and they lived in Swansea S.Wales

Family state that Albert's family was known to have come from the Splott region of Cardiff .

So far I can only see this family below which MAY link with Albert I can only find one possible match for Albert living in Stratton Cornwall in the 1881 Census and I do not think that entry is him either  :-\ I think the family listed here have something to do with Albert (Albert's middle name was Charles) It is just finding the link as I cannot find him enumerated.

This is the only Horrell family in Cardiff during 1881:

Dwelling:   9 Conway Rd (Pontcanna Rd)
   Census Place:   Llandaff, Glamorgan, Wales
Source:   FHL Film 1342270     PRO Ref RG11    Piece 5282    Folio 129    Page 21
   Marr   Age   Sex   Birthplace
Charles HORRALL   M   30    M   Trvro, Cornwall, England
   Rel:   Head
   Occ:   Painter
Caroline HORRALL   M   26    F   Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales
   Rel:   Wife
Agnes J. HORRALL       4    F   Canton, Glamorgan, Wales
   Rel:   Daur
Alice H. HORRALL       3    F   Canton, Glamorgan, Wales
   Rel:   Daur
Robert B. HORRALL    1    M   Canton, Glamorgan, Wales
   Rel:   Son
Edwin C. HORRALL       2 w   M   Canton, Glamorgan, Wales
   Rel:   Son

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could kindly look up Albert or any other Horrall's (or Harrell's) living in the 1891 Census in the Cardiff region.

By 1901 Albert is in Swansea with Sarah and his own family.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated  :)
