Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Re: Death Records Huddersfield
« on: Monday 27 June 11 17:35 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Welcome to rootschat  :)

Findmypast index has the following
LANGBRIDGE Sophia buried 1839 bn c1807 Huddersfield Yorkshire (West Riding )
Unfortunately we are not allowed to do lookups on FindMyPast but you can look at the record payperview.
I see the GRO indexes on http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl  have two Sophia Langbridges dying in the same qtr in Huddersfield different ref No's, this could be an error on the original register.
Deaths June qtr 1839
Langbridge  Sophia    Huddersfield  22 226
Langbridge  Sophia     Huddersfield  22 227

Are you sure she isn't still alive?  She could have died in the last few years which don't appear online.  ???

Although both James and Roger consistently state their birthplace in censuses as Aughton, IGI includes baps for both a 1802 James and a 1803 Roger in Ormskirk. Both entries give father as John -- with mother as Elizabeth.

Lancashire OPC gives the place of residence as Aughton for both of these Ormskirk christenings.
Don't forget that on a marriage the place of residence is possibly only the weeks leading up to the wedding to save having banns read in two parishes

Do you have the 1841 for the family?

Hi

It could be  Charlotte Scarbrough Spilsby reg district  7a 1080 December qtr 1862

If you look at the scan for George Bradshaw on freebmd the reference number is not at all clear and has been transcribed incorrectly as it shows on the site that it is not within the allocated numbers for Spilsby registration district.

Were her parents married?

Perhaps she was illegitimate and given her fathers surname as a middle name, and her mothers surname was Kittle.
