United States of America / Fanning Family in Wisconsin 1860
« on: Wednesday 26 February 14 17:58 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,  the following family is found in 1860 in theTownship Of Greenfield, Milwaukee, Wisconsin (Hales Corners, WI) but not thereafter.   No clue where the went.   Can anyone spot them in 1870 or 1880?

Mathew Fanning 25 (1835)  Ireland Carpenter
Mary Fanning 21   (1839) Ireland
dau Elizabeth Fanning. 2 months  (1860) Wisconsin

Thank you,

Ichabod Pomeroy ( 1757-1843)  a lengthy biography is on Find A Grave,  a soldier and patriot for the US against the British and a pioneer in Ohio.

Was easy enough to do a little historical research.  Other than Find A Grave, was much to be found by googling, if of interest..

Hi J,   My Martin born c1820 in Ireland.  No idea of his father's name but no children b. 1869 and in that year, would have to have been born in Massachusetts anyway.  Oh well......

But you are off to the races now in your searches.

Best of luck  ;D

Hello J,  and welcome to Rootschat!

You might post details or what you are hoping to find with your family.  Might be most productive to concentrate on a family group at a time.   By details, full names, specific locations, birth dates, death dates, marriage dates, etc.  whatever you know and what you hope to find out.

I have Moran as well from Liverpool and Ireland before that.  Martin and Mary (Hunt) Moran.  I believe came from County Mayo around 1848-ish, before 1851 censes anyway.  Mary Hunt may have been a second wife but not sure on that point.  The family including 6 children moved to Coventry and from there to the U.S. in 1863.

Good luck with your searchings  :)

If any consolation, Kelly Clarkson was the most insipid (IMO) story in this season

Was the first one of the series shown in the US.

Glad to have helped  :)

Good luck with your further searches.
