Showing my ignorance but what are the Fold3 records you are talking about?

forgot to add:

Can Anyone help please?
We are interested in Hilda Hawes who worked on the Mid Suffolk Light Railway (Middy) during WW2.
We have a photo of her and a few other details but no birth.
1939 she is described as Eva H Hawes (Withers) dob 5.5.1915 Mrs.
She married Samuel E Withers in Q1 1964 in Wood Green.
Her probate as Eva Hilda Withers is dated 2015.

Samuel married in 1929 originally but was a widow by 1943.

Questions: where was Hilda born and what was her surname?
Who did she marry first time to get the name Hawes?

I have this Elizabeth Hadlow on my family tree, are you still looking for details?

Thankyou AntonyMMM, your answer is spot on. I have found both my Cecil and his twin Horace registered twice. One keeps on learning.

The Common Room / Late birth registration

I have just found one of my 'persons of interest' who was born on 21.June 1914 but his birth not registered until 28 Sept 1927 with a note under the 'when registered' column of his birth certificate 'on the authority of the register general'.

My question - why was he 13 when the birth was registered? what would have triggered the late registration?
