« on: Saturday 19 August 17 22:21 BST (UK)  »
Please does anyone have access to the St John, Newcastle upon Tyne PRs or could point me in the right direction to look myself. I cancelled my ancestry sub as the amount of use couldn't justify expense on a pension :-)

I would like to see the actual image if possible of this marriage as I am not convinced that Robley is the correct name for the bride....mis-transcription?

This from Fam Search.....
Name    Robt Newton
 Spouse's Name     Mary Robley
 Event Date     10 Aug 1728
Event Place     Saint John,Newcastle Upon Tyne,Northumberland,England

Many thanks Sylvia

Kerry / Kerry Parish register help please - Mara - McClure Aug 1859
« on: Thursday 09 March 17 19:15 GMT (UK)  »
Someone very kindly put up a link to the Catholic Parish Registers and for the first time I have found my gg/grandmother in the flesh (so to speak) ;D. A very kind Priest sent me a transcript of this years ago but gave this 'one' daughter the name of Sara Francesca

However I wonder if you can help re the entry please. It looks to me like Sara and Francesca....twins??? Most of the entries above and below are one name

As a bit of interest my dear old Mum always said that her g/mothers were maternal twins, and I have never found a further baptism for Francesca. I do know for a fact that Nana and Grandad were noted as cousins when they married

New Zealand Completed Requests / WW1 ancestors, more sites to check

I don't know if these have been added before but I was sent this email and they look quite useful. Happy hunting

Start by searching for them on the Online cenotaph at – there will be basic details there, and a link to their military personnel file at National Archives, which you can read online and download.  Don’t forget to leave a poppy for them.

(If they were in the Australian armed forces, go here instead.)

No ancestors served in World War 1?  Feel free to adopt one at, then go to the online cenotaph to learn more about them

Australia / A friend's brother died in Victoria
« on: Tuesday 02 December 14 06:17 GMT (UK)  »
Hi folks
Hoping someone can point me in the right direction please
A friend's estranged brother died in Victoria  (Melbourne?) in 1996. He possibly committed suicide.
She would like to know if it is possible to get a copy of his death cert, any newspaper report and/or coroner's report?
Where would she apply?
I won't mention the name in case it's too recent but can be PMd if it helps
regards Sylvia

My Great Uncle disembarked at Bologne on 13th Mar 1917 and is listed as "injured in the field" on 28th Mar 1917. Later being sent to the Labour Corps to a POW Coy from where he was demobbed in Oct 1919.
Can anyone tell me please where the Royal West Surreys were in Mar 1917...seems my g/uncle only lasted 2 weeks there. Injured or gassed?
He was Alfred Edward Berry #52666 then #77430

I'm hoping someone can help please. I was going to have a browse of the Bellingham baptisms and burials but Fam Search is giving me this message.....

Is this a new thing or am I missing something? I always thought these "browse images" were always available (although time consuming  :D)

The Common Room / FindMyPast newspapers
« on: Thursday 27 March 14 20:29 GMT (UK)  »
I've found a really good article on FindMyPast about a court case in the family. I would like to cut and paste the quite large piece to a separate doc so I can print it off. Is there an easy way to do this...right clicking doesn't seem to achieve anything.
Help please
