Kent Completed Lookup Requests / 1901 Census Lookup - TWYMAN/GURR
« on: Thursday 19 April 07 12:45 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for more information on a set of my GGrandparents.

My Grandfather is Frank Alfred TWYMAN b 24 Apr 1921 Thanet, I found his mothers maiden name to be GURR from the BMD index.

I then found a marriage between an Arthur TWYMAN and a May L GURR, Q4 1911 in Thanet. I know it isn't the best way to go about things like this but i am assuming (for now!) that these are his parents.

I'm pretty sure the whole family are from the Thanet area of Kent - so i just wondered if the 1891/1901 census brings up many possibilities? I think they were both born around 1886/1887.

They had 3 children that i know of: Arthur H (1913), Frank Alfred (1921), and Albert J (1925). These might provide some clue as far as names go!

Any help greaty appreciated  ;D

I thought my Swinnock line might be the easiest to follow as there were only a few families around, but can't find anything on Joseph.

There appears to be a Daniel Swinnock on the 41 and 51 census', b. Abt 1777 - i guess i shouldn't assume this is Joseph's dad, even though its his son Edwards middle name! Any pointers? I'm new at all this!  :-[

(Apologies again, i know i'm asking lots of questions!)

East Mailling, East Barming and Loose all appear to all be just outside of Maidstone!

I only started my family history about 2 week ago, not sure I'm ready to venture into Smith teritory!  :-\

Lots of children!

Susannah, wife, 41, b. Loose?

Is there anymore of a clue on the 1841/1861 as to Susanna's birthplace?

And forgive my lack of knowledge - can i assuma that means John Agnett lived in the same household?

Thanks Tati, I'll have to get a copy of their wedding certificate to confirm her fathers name.

If you have time - Do Joseph and Letitia appear on the 1841 census together? Wondered if there were any more siblings before Edward was born in 1846.

Thanks for info, appreciate your time  ;D

I'm looking for parents of Edward Daniel SWINNOCK b. 1846 in Maidstone.

He appears on the 1881 census with his wife, Fanny Terry (/Terrey) BROWN (b. 1845 in Maidstone) and their chlidren (looking for her parents on the 1851 census too if possible, i'm hoping there weren't too many Fanny Terry Brown's in Maidstone!).

They married in 1868, again in maidstone.

Any help would be greatfully received!

Many Thanks, Clare
