Thanks for your reply Pam  ;D

Looking good! I checked the BMD again, Jun qtr 1903 John Reeves - possibly married an Alice Elizabeth WILSON...

Couple that with the fact that John's fathers name may be Edward...

Is it wrong to assume we're right? My GGrandfathers name is John Edward Wilson REEVES!!

Can you see Alice on the 1901? If she's living near Creswell then I think we've cracked it  ;D

Derbyshire Completed Look ups / 1901 Lookup Please - REEVES

I have recently received my GGrandparents marriage certificate. Unluckily, my GGrandfather John Edward Wilson REEVES was born in 1904 so I'm hoping someone with a good eye might be able to spot his parents on the census 3 yrs before. His father was John REEVES, and like many in the area he was a miner!

John Edward's birth was registered in Worksop - a quick search of ancestry shows quite a few Reeves births in that district at the  time so maybe quite a few families? In 1924 the family are living in Clowne so that may be an indication of location in 1901.

I've found a marriage for a John REEVES in Woksop, 1903 (wife Harriet or Alice) so its possible its him and he's unmarried in 1901.

I think i may need to order my GGrandfathers birth certificate but i thought a check of the 1901 first might give some results.

Thank you in advance!
Clare

Lovely, thanks!

Found him on the 1881 now, but his mother is a widow. Can anyone find him on the 1871, mother Anne Turner born Poplar? (Sorry to be a pain!)

Thanks Karenlee  ;D

I'm having a bit of trouble tracing Edward Back any further - can anyone help? You might have a better eye than me!

On 1901online (searching the 1891) there appears to be an Edward Turner age 24 living in Thanet. I have a subscription on findmypast but can't seem to see him anywhere! Possible marriage - Dec qtr 1890 Thanet to Sarah Elliott?

Thanks!  :-\

~ Should have also mentioned, I can't seem him on the 1881 either which would hopfully reveal the names of his parents  ???

Thanks for all that info Betty.

I've just chacked the 1881 for James, Sophia and Emma - Apparently, Emma's mum is now called Mary Eliza and is 21! Thats good considering Emma is 11, and James is now 44!

Looks like this line is going to be fun all the way!

Many Thanks again,
Regards, Clare

I'm happy enough that we've got the right line. I wonder why his age keeps changing so much?

Just got one more question if thats possible - can you find Emma Packman on the 1971? She'll should be 1.

Many Thanks for all your help, its greatly appreciated!

Lovely, Thank You!

I've found Edward on the 1861, with wife Rose? Children - Pamila 11, Sarah 7, George 5, Ester 3 and Eliza 11. This might link up with the family on the 1871?
