I see you are in Brisbane - I have a son and his family in Bardon and may be coming over later in the year - new baby due (no 3) so intend waiting until it is more interesting but not too hot.

Do You have access to Mottram-in-Longdendale, St Michaels records ?
My gt grandmother Hannah Broadhurst married Sydney(Sidney) Greaves somewhere before 1836 when Elizabeth Greaves was born.  She is from Newton which I know at that time was in Mottram Parish.
Best Regards

Thanks ever so much for that.
I see you have a Blackledge in your family members - 20+ years ago a Blackledge was headmaster at a school in Macclesfield.

Can anyone look at Blackburn Newspapers for 1903 ?  My gt grandfather Drowned in the Leeds and Liverpool Canal on 28th August 1903 - there was an inquest, I have the death certificate but would like to see a report on the inquest which was held on 31st August.
Thanks

Hi,
I think it's Chiney - the first letter is like the first letter of the Charles above and below it, there is a definite dot above the next letter.  I have found one reference to Chiney as a forename but it was a male - sorry.
