Hi Shane,

I've looked on the 1911 census but can't find them.

There is a birth for an Arthur Edmund SIMPSON in 1907 Belfast which would fit.

Hello,

Does anyone know about this family:

William Simpson married Lily Beels 1920 at Grimsby they had a son Kenneth W. Simpson 1921 at Grimsby.

My husband's mother remembers visiting a relative at Grimsby when she was young.

Thanks

Dear Shane,
Thanks for your reply - yes the other queries on the internet are mine.

Here is what someone told me:
"Earliest Catholic church records for Killanummery begin in 1828 - earliest Michael Kelly birth that the Leitrim Heritage Centre has is 1829 - could be yours, or it might be someone different."

I have no further clues to his parents as I can't find his marriage certificate - he enlisted in Glasgow in 1847 - someone suggested that he might have married there or maybe in India. I employed a researcher to look for an Indian marriage but they couldn't find one.

Looks like he could have had some land:
"Estate 167R 1a. 0p. - ref. European Soldiers (Bombay) L/MIL/12/111." not sure how I go about getting more information about this.

Hello,

Thanks for your replies. I am trying to find out more about the family of William Owen Simpson & Mary McDonald. It is the Simpson family that I am interested in. I know about his parents but just wanted more details about this couple. A family member told me they married in Dublin in 1892 and that Mary was 16 and had run away from home. Could she have married at 16 without her parents permission?

I can't find a marriage as yet?

Durham / Re: Henry MCKENZIE bapt 26 Sep 1762 Billingham, Durham son of Henry

Hello,

Thanks for your reply. MECHENZIE is a new spelling! The son Henry was down as KENZIE when he was in Carlisle. I think they could have had a Scotish accent. In fact I am trying to find out where they came from in Scotland and am hoping that by finding out what the father's occupation was might give me a clue.

I don't know when Henry snr. died but there doesn't seem to be a death in Cumberland (under McKenzie)  that I know of.

Hello,

I am trying to prove that Henry McKenzie bapt 26 Sep 1762 at Billingham, Durham the son of Henry is 'my' Henry who ended up in Carlisle, Cumberland.

All the McKenzies on my direct family tree are called Henry!

I know that Henry bapt 1762 died in Carlisle but where did his father Henry die?

Would the parish records show what the father's occupation was?

Thanks

Hello,

I am looking for the death of James CHARLES who was born in Elgin, Moray and also his marriage to Jean / Jane MARSHALL (born 1727)

His wife and daughters: Barbara & Susan move to Carlisle, Cumberland where Jean/Jane dies on 29 Oct 1818.

Why did they move down to England?

Thanks,
