Fermanagh / Joseph Graydon - Find my past
« on: Tuesday 24 January 17 01:11 GMT (UK)  »
Hi there

I have a Joseph Graydon born abt 1785 in Ireland. Jospeh married Ann Morton abt 1830, I pressume in Ireland and on her death certificate (in Scotland)  it states that Joseph was a gunner in the Royal artillery.

Online I have found a Joseph Graydon born Killisher, Fermanagh who serves in the Royal Artiliary discharged aged 33.
Royal Hospital Chelsea Soldiers Service Documents 1760 - 1854 etc (WO 97/1-1271) Royal Artilliry Gre - Gre nd this information can be found on find my past. I have a subscription to Ancestry and it nothing comes up there. Searching find my past, nothing appears to come up on there either for the above related information. I don't have a subscription to find my past but thought something at least may have come up. Are there any suggestions for where else I may look for this information. I may have to resort to the Archives in Ireland.
I'm using the libraries internet at present so if I don;t reply for a dy or two, that will be why.

Australia / Robert John Johnston
« on: Friday 06 January 17 22:38 GMT (UK)  »
Hi there

I'm helping an elderly lady with her ancestors. Her Great Grandfather Robert John Johnston was b abt 1851 in Tasmania and came to NZ with his brother Charles. Robert married Elizabeth Sophia Armer 26 Mar 1884. I need some help looking for Roberts parents please.  I have come across parents that included Mary Riley as a mother. The funeral directors for Robert no longer exist, he died 5 Nov 1939 in Hamilton and I haven't found any other information that directs me to his birth details. I'd appreciate your help thanks.

I have snippets for a Charles Johnston and apparently he was a bit notorious, but not thing that can lead to his parents.

I'm using the library internet at present and it may take a few days for me to reply.

Hey there

As it has been a while since I have posted I am hoping some great soul still visits the Archives in Wellington. If so, it would be much appreciated!

I am looking for a copy of a Coroners Inquest. I've checked the restrictions and I am outside the holding period for this file, so it is all good.

Date of holdings 1844 - 1975
Former Archive Reference: J46 J46 W2848

what is the poll about and does one have to fill one in each time the post?

Donegal / Wallace/Montgomery marriage- completed
« on: Thursday 20 December 12 21:19 GMT (UK)  »
Hey there

I'm hoping someone may be able to help me with a marriage for William Wallace and Sarah Montgomery around 1878 to 1880 in Donegal. The children were born in the Ballymacool area from 1880 onwards, so am presumming Sarah and William may have married around that area.

Thank you
