Can't do that silas

You won't be able to chat. I'm sure someone will have some suggestions for you to help you out.( step by step instructions) if your anything like me. Unfortunately my knowledge doesn't extend that far. As Downside said removing the trogan completely is difficult. I can imagine it's getting you down and probably has a lot to do with not knowing what to do about it. I get that way at times with my computer. Fortunately for me I have a computer geek friend  ( and I mean that in the nicest way ) that helps me out.

Hang in there.

Hi sylas

If you haven't already it would pay also to have more than one spy ware programme. AVG anti spyware, Spybot search and destroy and adware spy ware are all good and free. What one doesn't pick up in spyware the other will. If you look up freeware spyware in your google bar you'll find the sites.

Great tip from Michael 72.

Family History Beginners Board / beginner sites

I discovered these 2 sites today and found them easy to use. No doubt they've been mentioned before but as yet I haven't looked through all the beginner posts.

www.familytreesearcher.com

Easily described as ( let your fingers do the walking ) and takes the head ache out of searching through multiple sites as this one does it for you.

great beginner tips on ancestral searching

Ok I'll try again. I know I posted a reply but it doesn't seem to have come up

Thank you Aghadowey

For replying. You've probably saved me many an hour of frustration. Even knowing that my GD may have left from Londonerry may be enough of a piece to fit the puzzle.

I appreciate you extending your knowledge to help me out

Many Thanks

Donegal / Ports of Donegal
« on: Monday 04 June 07 06:21 BST (UK)  »
I was wondering if a person lived in Donegal what ports would be available ( or most inconvenient )to leave from to travel to Scotland in 1884 on wards.

I'm trying to trace my grandfathers steps to Scotland.
All I know is that he married in Strarhmigco (miglo) Scotland in 1897. He later immigrated to New Zealand. What sites could I go to, to find passenger lists for both countries. I have no details on ships names or year of travel or which county or port that he and his wife left from.   I have tried searching New Zealand records for port of entry lists to no avail.

I would appreciate it if someone could help me out with details

Many thanx

Ps will post on Scots board as well.
