Well, Casalguidi and bearkat,
It looks like I'm going to have to employ you both. I cannot believe you've gone to so much trouble
on my behalf. Miss Marple, eat your heart out!
I shall pass all this info onto my Malta connection.
My heartfelt thanks to you both

Hi bearkat,
Thank you so much for the link to the army website in Malta. I will pass this on to my relative there and it may help her track down "her"William's details.
I am really grateful to you for continuing to research this one on my behalf. If and when I manage to
stop world war three from breaking out amongst my relatives, I will let you know the final outcome.
The people on this site are really helpful and informative and I have let my fellow researchers know that
this is the place to be when you get stuck.

Hi Roger,
You have contacted me before and I don't believe we have a link at this stage, although I do have a James born 1792 in Botley. I do not have any details of his marriage or his children. James was the son of Robert Cawte and Elizabeth Paye. You still have an open invitation to view my family tree, so feel free
to look at this entry and see whether this ties up with the James you have.
I feel sure we will connect eventually, its just finding the right relative!
Best of luck with your search.

Hi calguidi,
The info I have so far is that the lady in Australia got her information from Morman Churches Family History Centre in Perth. I am still waiting for details and will let you know when I get anything.

With regard to William Henry's second marriage I found a possible match with Elizabeth Howard
Dec 1883 in Medway Vol 2a Pg 955. However, could not find it on Cityark so could not establish parents' details.

I have already pointed out discrepancies with first marriage certificate, but to no avail. Hopefully when she sends me what she's got the mists will clear!

I'm really grateful for you guidance.

Hi Pam,

Good thinking. Sometimes it takes someone else to put you on another train of thought.
Spooky though how you got onto the Maltese connection. This one is still under investigation.

Thanks for all your effort on my behalf. It is much appreciated.

Hi there,
I am confused ???
Why are we looking at records for William Lampard, when Matilda's husband's name was William Roberts?
The records you have found for William Lampard are currently being investigated to see if there
is a connection to my tree but these do not have any relevance to my current enquiry.

Sorry if we have got in a muddle on this one

Hi Pam,
Yes you've got the right Elizabeth - now we need to find out whose niece she is. Is she Matilda's (in which case Matilda would be nee Lampard) or is she related in some way to William Roberts?

Hi bearkat,
Thanks for the update. I do have a reader's ticket but this is for the Essex Records Office. Is this OK?
