Suffolk / BORRETT/DAY/HURREN in Suffolk

My cousins and I have long been searching for the birth parents of John Borrett, born approx. 1804-07. Census of 1851 (Greenwich, Kent) gives his birthplace as Sudbury, Suffolk, but record searches there have thus far turned up nothing.
He married Catherine Gardner in 1832 in St. Giles, Camberwell, London, so John probably left the Sudbury area as a young man or perhaps as a child.
Among his children were John HURREN Borrett (b.1840) and Catherine DAY Borrett (b.1851), which leads us to believe the surnames Hurren and Day (fairly common Suffolk names) have a connection to John Borrett's ancestry. All three surnames seem to appear in records of villages near to Sudbury.
Can anyone offer ideas or help with our search?
