Kent Completed Lookup Requests / 1841 / 1851/ 1861 ~ Look-ups, Please
« on: Monday 08 December 08 04:03 GMT (UK)  »
Hello

Could someone help me please  ?     :)

1841 / 51

Sarah Jane HOLBOURN  (alt. HOLBORN, HOLBOURNE)
b. 1817 at Deal, Kent

Thomas Robert HOLBOURN (husband)
... both probably residing at Deal ?

[Notes:   The IGI lists five children for this couple - three I have found died in infancy between 1841-51 and a son James HOLBOURN,  I have 1861/71 details for.     I'm hoping to find the other son "Thomas Robert HOLBOURN born 1848 at Deal"].

1861 Census

Looking for Thomas Robert HOLBOURN (senior), and his son of the same name (born at Deal, 1848).   [The wife/mother, Sarah Jane, appears to have died 1852 - March Q - Eastry reg'n] :

Many thanks.

« on: Thursday 04 December 08 04:16 GMT (UK)  »
Hello

Could someone help me please ?    :)

I'm wanting to find children, or other family members, who may have been residing with the following couple.

Harriet Ann BIRCH - b. 1822 - Deal
William BIRCH (husband)

[Harriet found in 1841 census at Deal (before her marriage)   ... and appears to have died in 1863 (Eastry reg'n) - so likely living in Deal 1851-61].

Many thanks.

Hello

Could someone help me with these look-ups please ?    :)

I'm wanting to find out, who else might have been residing with these couples.

1.   Martha Ann MARSH - b. 1812 - Deal
      Henry MARSH , mariner, (husband) - b. 1816 - Deal

2.   Mary Prebble SPEARS - b 1808 - Deal
Richard William SPEARS, boatman (husband) b. 1806-Deal

[Both the Marsh's and the Spear's appear on 1881 census at Deal ... I imagine they are in the same location in 1841-51 also ?]

Many thanks

Hi

Would be most grateful of help please, in trying to solve a "mystery".

Endeavouring to establish, who the father, really is ?

John Henry NEWTON (b. 1826) and Edward Prebble NEWTON (b.c. 1828), brothers, both born at Deal.

Another researcher of this family has provided copy of 1841 census - Parish of Deal - showing these boys with parents named "James and Jemimah", however their marriage certs.  (John Henry - 1851 - at Deal, and Edward P. - 1853 -at Great Mongeham) both record their father as "Isaac" NEWTON.   ???

Could someone please re-check 1841 for a "John and Edward", with father "Isaac" ?

And I would appreciate details also for John and Edward, and James (Isaac?) / Jemimah, in 1851.

Very many thanks.     :)

Technical Help / Help Please - JPEG files
« on: Sunday 01 June 08 17:58 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Could someone help please in explaining where I am going wrong in trying to download JPEG attachments ?
I get a screen up "Windows picture and fax viewer" (which says "no preview available") and when I click on "start slide show", it doesn't bring up an image.

[Sorry, I'm absolutely green in such matters - and could probably do with step-by-step instructions.    :-[ It's only these "JPEG thingees" I have trouble with.    ;D

Many thanks

Hello

I'd be most grateful of any help please.     :)

In 1881,  Sophia CROWDER (bc 1805 , Addleston, Surrey) is living in London with her daughter Ann CROWDER (bc 1833, Paddington).

I'd dearly like to be able to find Sophia, her husband and (possibly) other children, in earlier census returns.

Many thanks

Lu
