Thanks Heywood, it looks like the way to go. Will post the result when I have it.
Much appreciated. :D

Thanks, I have probate and Will but no occupation. Sadly this is the only way I can think of to winkle out my man. I was hoping Kelly's had a section for trades.
Thanks again you help is very much appreciated.

 :D Thanks for your time.
I think this address held Richard Joseph (or Joseph Richard) Toner and family from 1950 onwards. I would like to know if his occupation is listed as anything similar to Telephone Engineer, please.

Also if he can be found in earlier editions.

Thank you
Joan

Oh, yes. I checked and devoured them🤣. I just imagined they couldn't possibly be free,. Thank you for making my day and for the extra link. I can now neglect all non-essential work and get stuck in.
Again, thanks.

someone else is better able to explain NI records than I am. I know that until 1922 they are at the site in the link above. After that, I have to look at my notes and bookmarks every time. I know they are available as follows:

Births 100 yrs or more in the past
Marriages 75 years
Deaths 50 years.

You need to bookmark this site, if you haven't already done so  ;D

Thanks, I have now done that and I can see that it will be useful in the future.

Oh my! As I said before, you are incredible. ::) So, please, can you tell me if all of these records you have sent for me were readily available and free on the internet? Or have you managed to access them because you have a paid sub to the site? I ask so that I can set myself up for future research in NI without having to ask for help.
Thanks again for all your time and assistance.
Just out of interest, I had managed to find the Newspaper notice re William being gassed. But I was just guessing that it was the right William for me.

Again my thanks. I did find in a newspaper of 1916 that a soldier aged 21 had been sent home after being gassed. I thought it could be my man and now i will be able to check.
Thanks for telling me how to put my errors right. Hope I don't have to do it again.

Oh Aghadowey, what a star you are! I imagine that you must be totally familiar with all these records in the same way I like to think I am with English ones.
I could never have managed it without you..
In gratitude, Ozzie Joan

Thanks to all the kind folk who replied. The idea of getting access to it was to be able to trawl through it. I have nothing but names to go by, not even exact ages and just hoped to spot something. Familiar or suggestive.
I need to re-think b4 continuing.
