Nottinghamshire Lookup Requests / Re: Clara Woodward (b 1872???)
« on: Wednesday 02 December 20 00:18 GMT (UK)  »
There is this 1881 entry for Nottingham but ages don’t match earlier censuses.

All surname Woodward - all b Tewksbury but from Charles onwards - b Notts

William 63 b Gen labourer
Ann 60 b
Elizabeth 25
Ann 20
Charles 18 b Notts
Clara ? 14 b Notts
Ellen ?? B Notts
RG11 pce 3353 folio 58  Pge 19

Ellen's age looks like 14
There is a birth reg Jun qtr 1870 Nottingham for Ellen Woodward mother's maiden name Hallings
I cannot find this Ellen on 1871 census
there is a death reg Sept qtr Nottingham Ellen Woodward age 0
so maybe they had another Ellen - so confusing with ages etc

Nottinghamshire Lookup Requests / Re: Clara Woodward (b 1872???)
« on: Tuesday 01 December 20 23:33 GMT (UK)  »
The only Woodward/Halling marriage was William Henry Woodward to Ann Halling in June qtr 1853 Tewksbury

I think this marriage is a very strong possibility for Clara's parents
Clara is findable on 1939 on Ancestry - can;t post details

This looks to be her birth

WOODWARD, CLARA
mother's maiden name HALLING
Q3  1871   NOTTINGHAM  Volume 07B  Page 246

Not finding them on 1881 yet

I can't find them in 1881

But this seems to add up (of course Clara's marriage cert would help with father's name

Marriage
30 May 1853 Tewksbury
William Henry Woodward 24 Bachelor labourer Barton St father Robert Woodward Stocking Maker
Ann Halling 21 Spinster Stocking Maker Gravel Walk father Charles Halling Sail? maker
Bride and Groom both made their mark

Witnesses Charles Halling  & Samuel l Moore both signed

on the Banns notice Ann's surname has been entered as Hawking or hawling

1861
16 Cambridge St St Ann Nottingham
William Woodward Head M 32 Brickmaker
Ann wife 30 Seamer of Hose
Richard son10
Henry son 7
all dittoed as b Nottingham (which I believe  is  a mistake )
coincidence?
17 Cambridge St
Joseph Keetley Head M 24 Bricklayer
Elizawife 24 Lace Runner

1871

Ann wife 38
Samuel son 11
Mary Ann daughter 15 works at factory

all except Charles were born Tewksbury
