Get ready for more new members! ;D
There is a long article about RootsChat in the June 20 edition of Eastman's Online Genealogy Newsletter. This will probably bring RootsChat to the attention of more Americans with roots in the British Isles. To read the article go to:    http://www.eogn.com/    click on "read free standard edition" (at left) and scroll down.

Cheers,

Hi,
I am new to RootsChat and I wonder if some kind soul could help me find a most elusive gt.grandmother. Her name was Belinda STEVENSON and she would have been about 8 in 1851(I am guessing her age). Since
Belinda was an unusual name at that time, I don't suppose there was more than one in East Hanney. I have no information about her family and I am hoping find names of her parents and siblings. She died young
after giving birth to her only child, my grandmother. After her death, her husband's family took charge and made sure that my grandmother never met her Stevenson grandparents or learned anything about them. I could not find her birth record in FreeBMD. It was not too long after civil registration started, so perhaps she was not registered. PRs for West Hanney(closest church) do not seem to be available anywhere
for events after 1812.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Carmela
