What it says in the subject line - an offer to lookup marriages between 1837 and 1869 in the Tunstead Registration District.   Not all parishes are available.   Am happy to do lookups for a specific marriage, or all references for a single surname.

If you want to check which parishes are in this registration district go to http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/genuki/reg/districts/tunstead.html

Note that after 1869 most of these parishes move to the Smallburgh RD.

Sussex / Skippers Hill Manor School in the 1950's
« on: Sunday 29 May 11 13:24 BST (UK)  »
Bit of a long shot, but does anyone know if there are any archives to do with this school?  I'd be interested in old photos of the school as it was in the 1950's, and in particular lists of staff, or photos of staff?  My father, Warwick Curtis taught there for a year or so (on a working holiday from New Zealand) somewhere around 1953-1955.  I'm trying to both pin down dates, and see if there are any photos or other records of his time there.  Its Skippers Hill Manor Prep School, Five Ashes, Mayfield, East Sussex

London and Middlesex / prisons, middlesex around 1911
« on: Sunday 08 May 11 17:19 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone tell me which prisons would have been open in 1911 in middlesex - particularly ones that someone from Edmonton (Wood Green/Tottenham) might have been sent to.

Also, is there any way of searching the 1911 census on findmypast.com to get a list of inmates of prisons?  I'm thinking that they probably only recorded initials anyway, but if they also recorded age and place of birth then I might get some idea if one of my missing ancestors is possibly in prison at the time of census.

Technical Help / findmypast census 1911 searches
« on: Sunday 08 May 11 17:15 BST (UK)  »
Is it possible to search for an institution on findmypast census 1911?  I'm wanting to see what is recorded for prison inmates, realising that it may just be initials rather than full names.

Cambridgeshire / SENNITT family, mostly of Stretham
« on: Tuesday 01 March 11 18:42 GMT (UK)  »
Anyone interested in this family?  I have a one-name study for SENNETT registered, and out of interest I decided to investigate this spelling of it - pretty much all of whom seem to link back to common ancestors in Stretham in the early 1700's.  A few moved on to Essex, London, and Yorkshire later.  I don't think they are going to link at all with the other SENNETT families in my study, but you never know.

If you do have a connection to Cambridgeshire SENNITTs, or London or Essex ones, or  Joseph SENNITT in and around Worsborough or Bradford, then please get in touch with me.  It will be good to share and check information.

BTW - I've probably got in excess of 350 linked names in this group, and that doesn't count all the spouses with a different surname.

I'm happy to do free lookups of these for people for a reasonable time period, ie looking for one or two generations of a name, rather than a general fishing exercise.  My particular interest is in SENNITT, so if anyone has those ancestors, I'll be able to pass on much more information as it is already extracted.

Cambridgeshire Completed Lookups / Stretham Parish Reg. look up please *COMPLETED*
« on: Sunday 20 February 11 15:42 GMT (UK)  »
Does anyone have access to the Stretham Parish Registers?

I'm wanting to check dates and parents names for any or all of the following (all born Stretham):
Baptisms:
SENNITT William, b abt 1774

SENNITT John b abt 1801
SENNITT William b abt 1807
SENNITT Thomas b abt 1811
SENNITT Edward b abt 1811
SENNITT Joseph b abt 1816
SENNITT Jonathan b abt 1817

Marriage
SENNITT William to Eleanor - probably some time between 1792 and 1801 in Stretham.

I'd also be interested in any other SENNITT names that come up in that kind of time period, to the same or different parents.

Thanks heaps.

One Name Studies: T to Z / ZANNETTI - anyone researching this name?
« on: Sunday 16 January 11 21:01 GMT (UK)  »
Is anyone researching the ZANNETTI surname, because if so I can pass on significant amounts of index entries for this name from BMD and Census.   I've just now separated out 260 birth index references, and there will be similar numbers of other entries as well.

The reason I have these is that I have a SENNETT one name study, and when I ask for variants ZANNETTI comes up as well, which my study has absolutely no links with.  Rather than just delete permanently all these references I have been cutting them and saving them separately, so I am more than happy to pass them on - either as Excel files, or as .pdf files.

Wicklow / SENNETT/SINNOTT and RYAN - Avoca Parish
« on: Saturday 04 December 10 15:54 GMT (UK)  »
Have finally found my SENNETT family (Joseph, wife Julia Ann RYAN) in Avoca Parish, Co. Wicklow. They moved to Whitwood, West Yorkshire (nr Normanton) in 1847, with two children.  If anyone else has these names in common, I'd love to hear from you.

I have also made a lot more effort into getting my HUGE database of SENNETT data into shape where it really is a one-name study, so again, if anyone wants to contribute or ask questions about SENNETT ancestors then I'd love to hear from you.
