I am hoping someone can help me find the marriage of my ancestor who went to East London, South Africa in 1901.

He was the Town Clerk in East London and was awarded the MBE for his services during WW1. He was also a JP and a Freemason for 26 years.

According to the Gloucester Citizen of 25th May 1928 he was taken ill with a suspected tropical disease and was advised to return to England for treatment.
He died shortly after arrival from a heart attack.

He left a wife and four children.

I know nothing about him after he left England other than the newspaper report of his death.

World War One / 10th Royal Hussars

I am looking for information on Captain Charles Vernon Maloney of the 10th Royal Hussars.

I have no information for him apart from the birth certificate of his son Charles Vernon Stuart Maloney 27 January 1890 in Builth, Brecon & Flint.

His wife was Elizabeth Stuart.

I cannot find them on any census or in any military record.

Please can anyone suggest where I could start looking.

Looking for information on John Boustead Kelsall who emigrated to Australia.

He was born in Ashton under Mersey, Cheshire UK in 1840 and was last located on the 1861 census.

The only information I have found for him in Australia is from the Crown Land Sales in Queensland.

There is a suspicion that he may have married and then divorced. Can't find any records of these events in UK.

Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Burial query

I wonder if anyone can help me solve the mystery as to where my maternal grandfather Richard Dowding is buried. He died in Gloucester 19 Feb 1929 and according to The Gloucester newspaper his funeral took place at Ryecroft Wesleyan Church.

I was told some years ago that there was a stone for him at Bury Hill Chapel in Weston under Penyard. As this is now a private house, I would be unable to check this out and wondered where the records would be kept.

He was born in Weston under Penyard in 1845 and was a master Carpenter.

Canada Lookup Request / Ronald Harvey

I am looking for information on Ronald & Dorothy Harvey.

Ronald was born 9th Dec 1920 in Lancashire, England. He emigrated to Canada on 14th June 1952.

He is listed aboard the Atlantic sailing from Southampton to Quebec and his occupation was a painter/decorator.

I have found him on the Voters lists for 1968,1972 & 1974 living at 1374, Collingwood Ave, London, Ontario with his wife Dorothy.

Also found him in the Canadian phone books 1995-2002 at the same address.

As Dorothy was not with him on the ship, I am wondering if he married her in Canada and if he died in 2002.

Any help would be most appreciated.

World War One / Winnall Down Camp, Winchester

I am doing some research on my Wilson line and have a marriage cert for Joe Wilson & Edith Haigh which took place at St Albans Church, Stockport, Cheshire in 1915. He was 22 and his profession is given as Private in 16th Battalion, R W F which I assume is Royal Welsh Fusiliers. His residence at the time of marriage is Winnall Down Camp, Winchester.

I looked this up and it was a rest camp for the Army in WW1 ans also an US base at some time.

I am presuming that he was on leave for his wedding or invalided out. I cannot find his Army records and would love to know more about him.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

US Lookup Requests / BMD Records in Texas

I have been looking on Ancestry .com for the the marriage, divorce & death records of Robert Allan King. I can get as far as the form to order certificates but Texas is not listed as an available state.

Please can anyone advise me where I can obtain these copies.

I'm looking for information on Thomas Rathbourne Waters who was born in Kilsby< Northamptonshire in 1838.

He was last recorded in the UK in 1861.

In 1885 he married his 2nd wife Annie Christina Frank in Nelson NZ.

His original occupation was a Wheelwright/Carpenter but he became the Battery Manager for United Alpine Quartz Co, Ltd in NZ

Could someone find him on a NZ census and his date of death please?

Canada Lookup Request / Littlejohn in Ontario

Alexander Littlejohn was born in 1807 in Inverurie, Scotland and emigrated to Ontario, Canada between 1851 & 1859.

His wife Mary Walker died in 1890 in Hamilton, Wentworth, Ontario.

I can't find them on the 1881 census and would love to know where they are buried.
