Oh thanks for that. again no evidence of Mary.

On the practical side her birth to that couple is possible.

Interesting. She's not mentioned in the family entry in Burke's Landed Gentry either.

The Common Room / Brabazon Hallows link
« on: Tuesday 23 April 24 11:39 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,

I've traced back to a Mary Hallows (1710-1763) who married a Thomas Burwell (1700-1758) and had a daughter Susannah Burwell in 1738, from whom I descend. Alternate spellings include Hallowes and Burrell. The family resided in Cowbit, Lincolnshire.

On Family Search it shows Mary as being the first child of Thomas Hallowes and Lady Catharine Brabazon, who had married in 1709. However, I'm not seeing any record to substantiate this.

Lady Catharine is a daughter of Chambre Brabazon, the 5th Earl of Meath.

Does anyone have anything to confirm or deny if Mary is the daughter of Lady Catharine?

An update.

Further research on the Codrington tree (i think it's a species of lantana; very entangled and thorny) reveals that I am descended from a junior branch of that family that stayed in Gloucestershire, not the slave owning sugar barons of Barbados.

Australia / help with Trove

Hi all

when I'm searching the surname Edwards on trove, how can I avoid being inundated by results for Edward. Or for that matter Edwardstown, as most of my searching is in South Australia,

Thanks

Just revisiting this topic. It is interesting that Richard Rees is buried with his second wife, not his third. I wonder what the story is there?
