Hi Chris,
Thanks for your reply. Of course WWII
But by then several children/grandchildren were already married with their own families in different parishes. Hopefully some of them may have artifacts of earlier Mardles?
Will have to study your latest reply as I am not familiar with some of the Mardles you mention.
I have a lot of names so I will tell you who I have so we don't keep looking for the same things?? Hear are some names:
1. The earliest record I have is Richard and Fennetta Heardings's marriage cert,
15/6/1851 Exeter.
Richard's father is listed on the cert as
Richard Mardles, weaver and Fennetta's father is
Henry Hearding, cordwainer. I have not been successfull in finding anything further
on the fathers and so my search has stalled at 1830.
Do you have this info??
2. Their children were Henry, Richard, Frank, Fred and Eliz Fennetta.
The children all married and had children. (Have some of these records)
Richard and Fennetta's son Richard W. (Franks brother) married an Alice Gregory in 1885. They had at least 3 children, Ernest, Rosa and Nini.
Ernest married an
Annie Avery in 1915.
I don't know the Richard you have who married Ann Mills. Are you saying he is a cousin of OUR Richard as the marriages are within a few years of each other??
What are indentures?? Only know vaguely about indentured servants.
Where is Colebrooke in relation to South Molton? Have never been to Devon and live in Ireland so geography of that area is minimal.
