There is a baptism for a Richard Winch 24/2/1703 Ticehurst Sussex St Marys Church. Mother Mary, Father Richard who was a Yeoman. Maybe he is the one, but you need to check it out. It is on FreeREG

All I could find was a hand written record for his birth 1/7/1898. Father Johannes and Mother Olga. Of course it was in German, so I don't know exactly what it said. It was dated 4/7/1898 in Berlin. I did however also find a family tree online, which I guess might be yours, but if not it has a photograph of their daughter Margaret on it. She died in Stoke Talmage, Oxford in 1992.

If you have got a copy of her birth certificate it should have her full Christian names on it. If you haven't actually got a copy the details for getting one are; Dec.Qtr. 1915/Volume 4b/Page 449/Kings Lynn. Ethel E H Page.
With regards to her baptism, a copy can be purchased online from Essex Archives-- Details Reference no. D/P513/1/3 or D/P 513/1/2
Parish Records/Baptisms 1917-1922/West Silverton, St Barnabas.

Welcome to Rootschat!
I think I have found a record for your aunt being baptised at the age of 3 years, so if this is her then, she must have spent at least the first three years with her mother Ethel Page. However there is a slight difference in her name, as it is down as Ethel Emma Hearn Page, as it has the vital Hearn part in her name I think this must be her. Maybe the unknown father had the surname of Hearn. It is also 20 days out on the birth date, but this could be a mistake when the record was input. Has her down as 5th October 1915 instead of 25th. She was baptised on either the 13th or 15th November 1918-there are two versions. At the time she was 3 years old and living with her mother- West Silverton, St Barnabas, Essex.

Probably misread my reply, as I did put 1933, although online it says the ship sailed in June 1933, which is a month earlier than the July 1933 when he signed up.
Buntikins. I now have Michael Brown b.about 1865 and his wife Mary b. about 1873 who were the parents of Patrick Brown who was your grandfather. Siblings Julia Brown 1899, Martin 1902 and Michael 1909. Patrick as you state married Elizabeth Chalmers in 1920 who sadly died in 1930. I have found four children born to the marriage, your mother and three brothers, all younger than her. I have not included their Christian names just in case any our still living, although they would all be over 100 by now, but still possible of course. Were all the children fostered?
Regards.

Calgaric was a ship that sailed between Liverpool and Canada, however HMAC says he joined in July 1933 whereas the last sailing from Liverpool to Montreal was in June 1933. It would appear that if he was still alive in 1933 then, I decided to look up the 1939 register using his actual DOB but nothing came up for him. If he was still living then maybe he was in another country. Were his parents Michael and Mary with siblings Julia/Martin and Michael?
Regards

Welcome to Rootschat.

What is your Grandfathers name and DOB. Do you know where he was born, and who your grandmother was?
Regards.

There is a tree online that states that James Judd married Mary Sturgess 21/5/1803 in Wilts. There is a paper copy attached. The child he had with Mary Davis therefore would have been before his first marriage in 1802. His marriage to Mary Pardey states 31/12/1811 in Lymington. On FreeREG it has William Davis born 23/9/1799 baptised 27/10/1799 St Marys Church Eling. Buried 6/7/1850 Eling aged 49 years. On FreeREG also in Eling there was a John James Judd born 2/1/1828 baptised 30/1/1828, Father James, Mother Mary Ann-he was a Farmer living in Marchwood, which is very close to Eling. Maybe this family could be a connection, although it does not tie up with the research, but who knows?

Welcome to Rootschat!!

What was your Grandmothers name, and D.O.B if you know it. I guess she would have been born about 1913 if she was 8 in 1921.

Regards.
