« on: Friday 30 September 22 15:41 BST (UK)  »
Doing a personal study on the LANE family from Glendon, Rothwell parish and Horton, all Northamptonshire during the 17th & early 18th centuries.

If anyone has access to these parish records (BMD/Burials, etc.) I'd much appreciate extracts from these if possible. I need some specific dates. This would be very much appreciated. I'm unable to access much online.

Parents names are William Lane & Anne Isham; his son Sir Robert Lane & Theodosia Manners; his son Francis Lane & Mary Hartopp.

Many thanks.

Other Countries / Hopkins family - Messina, Siciliy, Italy
« on: Saturday 17 September 22 22:51 BST (UK)  »
A shot in the dark maybe.... But if anyone can help locate the descendants of Samuel Hopkins, bap. Upminster, Essex, England 7 July 1778, younger son of Rev. John William Hopkins, rector of Upminster and Mary Worrall.

He apparently married a 'Sicilian lady' ?? maybe called Natala Aspa (?).
If he married it would probably be around 1800-1820.
Two separate sources give him death dates of 1826 or 1868 at Messina. Quite a big difference !!!???
He maybe had children including a John William, Samuel and Mary ?

Can't find any information online. On Ancestry and Family Search there is a John William Hopkins, born 1850, who died Messina, Sicilia, Italia 25 April 1877.

Also a Samuel John Hopkins, son of Edward Hopkins and Maria Bacci, bap. Messina 17 July 1873.

These might be descendants but no other info. Any help appreciated.

Other Countries / John Cater died West Indies c. 1779-1802
« on: Monday 29 August 22 23:03 BST (UK)  »
A wonder if any one can help me find any information on John Cater, son of John Kendall Cater and Margaret Beaumont, who disappeared, apparently died in the West Indies between 1779 and about 1802. His family were based in Kempston, Bedfordshire, England.

John Cater was born 25 November (bap. Kempston, co. Beds. 23 Dec.) 1754.
He was named on a 'List of the Officers of the Militia, consisting of six Companies (at Southampton)' -
"Lieut. John Cater, Date of Commission - 26 Mar 1778".
There was also a John Cater, ensign in the 40th Company of Foot, April 1779.

Many thanks.

Cambridgeshire Lookup Requests / Kendal / Kendall of Bassingbourn cum Kneesworth
« on: Monday 29 August 22 22:57 BST (UK)  »
I'm trying to find out if John Kendall of Bassingbourn Hall, Bassingbourn cum Kneesworth, co. Camb. was the same person who lived at Kempston Hall and Harold, co. Bedford.

John Kendall of Kempston Hall married Margaret Beaumont (b. c. 1644) daughter of Sir Thomas Beaumont of Stoughton Hall, co. Leics., and had 3 daughters. But I can find out nothing more of them.

A Samuel Cater of Kempston Hall & Harold, co. Beds. (164501704) married Anne Kendall, daughter. of John Kendall of Bassingbourne, Cambridgeshire. I wondered if this Anne could be one of the daughters of John and Margaret.

There are no refs to them in Kempston records.

If someone has access to the Bassingbourn records could they see if there are any Cater baps or burials around 1650 to 1700 please.

I'd be very grateful. Many thanks.

Bedfordshire Lookup Requests / Cater of Kempston Hastingbury
« on: Thursday 25 August 22 23:32 BST (UK)  »
Can someone check for burials in Kempston parish, co. Bedford between 1750 and 1820.

Trying to find any CATER deaths between that period, specifically the deaths / burials of any John Kendal Cater's children (He was the Lord of the Manor).

He had 5 children I cannot trace who might have died between these dates - Margaret John, Robert, Elizabeth and Thomas Knowles.

Also if there is death or burial entry for him during 1778.

Many thanks.

Primarily the families of Rev Thomas Beaumont and his wife Susanna (nee Oldys).....

And their son William Beaumont and his wife Mary (nee Bull).

Nothing much on Ancestry apart from an Elizabeth bap. 30/8/1677.

Buckinghamshire / Ellis family of Bullingdon End, Hanslope, Bucks
« on: Tuesday 24 May 22 03:21 BST (UK)  »
Looking for information on the Ellis family at Bullingdon End, Hanslope during the early to mid 17th century.

Unable to find anything else online apart from the will probate dated 29 November 1649 of William Ellis of Bullingdon End. He married Mary Chibnale (Chybnale) daughter of William Chybnale of Orlingbury, co. Northants.
His will mentions his wife Mary, sons William, Francis and Henry who were all minors. Also a brother Samuel and a sister Hester.
His wife Mary seems to have married again to a Charles Lane, also called "of Hanslope, co. Bucks ".
Couldn't see any reference to them in the Hanslope registers but I might have missed something?
Any details on any of the above, especially William, Mary their family would be much appreciated.
Thank you, Craig

Suffolk / Bacon family, Coddenham and Barham
« on: Wednesday 02 March 22 11:40 GMT (UK)  »
Hello.

I'm looking for baptismal and burial information for the children of ....

1) Sir Nicholas Bacon of Shrubland Hall, Coddenham and his wife Catherine (née Montagu). They married 28 Oct. 1682, and had at least 2 sons, Nicholas, bap. Barham 24 May 1686, and Montagu, bap. Barham 13 Dec. 1688. I believe there were other children [Montagu is described as the 2nd of 3 sons??] but nothing on Family Search or Ancestry.

2) Baptisms and/or burials of the children of the above son Nicholas Bacon (bp. 1686) and his wife Dorothy Temple who married 7 March 1710-11. They had children named George, John, Basil, Nicholas, Catherine, Sophia, Mary and possibly Temple. Again nothing of detail on the web with dates of birth, death, etc.

Any help and information on these families appreciated.

Bedfordshire / Wingate Russell of Oakley
« on: Thursday 17 February 22 15:07 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,

I'm looking for any information on a Wingate Russell, of Oakley (House), Bedfordshire.

Wingate married Anne Alston, the eldest daughter of Rev. Vere John Alston, Rector of All Saint's church, Odell, co. Beds. by his 1st wife Elizabeth Everard. She must have been born about 1715 as her parents married at Bolnhurst on 1st March 1713-14.

All I can find online and on Ancestry is their marriage licence dated 23 May 1742 -
Felmersham (co. Beds.) Register - “Marriages in the year of 1743, Mr Wingate Russell of Oakley batchelor and Ann Alston of Pavenham both of the County of Bedford by a licence from the office of Faculties May 23.”

Apart from that nothing.

Any further information greatly appreciated.

Regards, Craig
