Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Can you put a smile on this lady's face?

   I wonder if you could have a go at restoring this photo for me.  I believe she is Caroline WOODFORD nee BECK born 1802.
   Could anyone hazard a guess as to the date of the photo, a glass ambrotype, I think.  I've looked at various photo sites but the clothes don't seem to match anything there.

Why wasn't he returned to his place of birth ie. Itchen Ferry (Southampton)?  Would the workhouse records tell me?

Essex / Elvina MARTIN

   Trying to trace the baptism of Elvina MARTIN born 1826 approx at Colchester.  Her father was John Abel MARTIN,  mother unknown.
   Is she still in Esssex in 1841/51?  By 1860 she was liiving in Chatham.
   Has anyone seen her?  Any information appreciated.

I believe they were living at Chapel Fold or Charles Town, Northowram.

Has anyone seen them in 1851? - I'm not sure when they arrived from Ireland.
