Hi
Thank you for your reply

yes Thomas was born in 1827 and his sister Katherine wrote the letter and they was born 1825 in Hampshire along with their other sister elizabeth (1826). Their father Thomas was born about 1792, although he states he was born in Middlesex on the 1841 census i am not so sure. according to the letter his father was also Thomas from Liverpool and his mother was Elizabeth and her parents was Frances Tyrell and John/Thomas Foster. But Elizabeth had been married before to an army officer (no name given)
I have taken about 20 years off each person so that would make frances and John/Thomas born about 1750ish.
Also according to the letter there is a connection with the Hollingsworth's and the Glyn Banking family. I have been trying to solve this letter for quite a few years now with no luck.
Many Thanks again

Family History Beginners Board / Tyrell
« on: Wednesday 07 April 10 16:37 BST (UK)  »
I am researching a Frances Tyrell who was an heiress and lived about about 1750's or there abouts. She eloped and wed a Thomas or John Foster who's brother was a speaker in the Irish Parliament. They had four daughters One named frances one named Sophia One daughter her name is not known and the other daughter was Elizabeth who wed Thomas Hollingsworth. One daughter was wed to a Dudley Walpole, and one to a diamond broker in Scotland.
This is from a letter that has been passed down in the family and i just cannot solve it. Is there anyone out there who can help. ???

No reply from them at all.
I have just found the birth of Edith Richey and her middle name was Bertha C how strange that Thomas named his daughter from Eliza Smith Bertha. I wonder if the C stands for cecilia as thats his other daughters name. What i find strange is that on berthas birth cert she is HOLLINGSWORTH but Eliza and Alice surname was Smith but the same mother.

It's getting stranger and stranger.

Hi

I think i have found Eliza and Robert Smith's daughter Eliza's info. she was born 26/12/1856 and Christened 15/02/1857 at st lukess westminster.
She wed william betts in 1877 strand middx.and they had at least 6 children twin boys included. the twins were born in 1880/81 and John samuel died that year, also a daughter Eliza betts was born in 1879 and she also died in 1881. Eliza's husband william was born in 1883 and he died in 1890 Islington. I have added theses to my tree as i feel 95% that it is the same family.

Regards
Jan
