Hi Sunflower

Thanks for your help the info makes fascinating reading and thought provoking!!

Looks a likely chance that Thomas was 10 in Gotham in 1841 - BUT -and they always say check everything in family research - Where are his parents? - Was in living with his Grandma(aged 75)

Really need to check if Thomas was in Nottingham (the town) in 1851 or can we  make an assumption that he is still in Gotham?

Best regards
Peter

Census Lookup and Resource Requests / Census to Parish Registers
« on: Monday 08 November 04 20:59 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

Firstly Many many Thanks to rootchat members I have mangaed to complete sections of my Family Tree back to late 1790's an dearly 1800's

However this means now looking at Parish registers, which are scattered country wide

Having used the Internet to good effect so far in my research, can I now go back further in time using the Internet or is it all foot slogging work?

Any Help on resources and where to find Parish registers would be of great help

Again many thanks to you Rooters

Peter

Completed Census Requests / Re: Census lookup for Middlesex - Thomas Howard
« on: Monday 25 October 04 13:02 BST (UK)  »
hello

Thanks again

I will try and guess the age of Thomas Howard

This branch of the tree is proving hard to resolve the others on my wifes side were much easier

All relatives of my wifes are dead - she has very little knowledge on the subject - all she knows about her fathers (Leslie Howard) unbringing is that he lived with someone he called Aunty Grace

The reason that I need to resolve this branch is that its my 40th wedding anniversary soon and I wanted to try and find some living relatives from this brach as a present for my wife

Many thanks again - going to do some searching of 1901 census

Thanks for the response

I can only tell you that Louisa must have been married to someone called Chapman and then maybe widowed before 1917

On the birth certificate of Leslie Howard are the following addresses:

Leslie Howard born at 36 Seaford  Road Tottenham
Thomas Howard Father lived at 7 Forest Road Edmonton
Louisa Chapman Mother lived at 3 Westoe Road Edmonton

Hope this helps - thanks

Peter
