I am slowly working my way through my undated McAllan CdV's.

I wonder if this one is late 1870's?

Help appreciated, please  :)

I'm still trying to catch up with dating some of my recent acquisitions  ::)

I think this one is mid-1860's.

Do the experts agree with me please?

Studying my newly acquired books on dating of CdV's leads me to believe this one might be mid-late 1860's.

Please tell me I'm not too far off  :D

Thank for any help you can give.

I'd be grateful for guidance for a date on this one please.

My track record on dating is very poor to say the least. I am wondering - early 1880's?

(N.B. I do have full biographical details on Thomas McAllan  :D )

I don't actually need to have the photo restored, but do feel free if time is hanging heavy on your hands!

Please can you help me with a date for this CdV by Allan Ramsden please?
I am guessing some time in the 1880's, but only because of the fact that I know he was based in Hexham at that time.
Any assistance will be gratefully received  :)

Dating only required please, no restoration needed  :)

I would love to know where this building is, or was  :-\ I have searched in vain so far.

All I know is that the photo was taken in 1946, my mother in the foreground.

The thatch seems very fancy to me, might this be a regional style perhaps?

There might be a lifebelt at the right-hand end of the building, so is it near the sea or a lake?

Any pointers would be most appreciated.

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / How old are Thomas and Jane?
« on: Sunday 29 March 20 18:48 BST (UK)  »
These are my great-great grandparents, Thomas and Jane Reed.

Thomas was born in 1843 and Jane in 1847.

Please can anyone offer an opinion as to approximately when this photograph was taken?

I would appreciate an opinion, please, on the date of this cabinet card by Allan Ramsden.
He was an itinerant photographer, but was based in Hexham in the 1880's and I wonder if this photograph was taken during this time?
He clearly wasn't happy with the man's eyes as they have obviously been re-touched (he mentions doing this on more than one occasion in his book 'Life in a Caravan').

(Please note, I do have full biographical details on this particular photographer).

Please could the experts give me an approximate date for this?

I'm thinking late 1860's (but I'm usually wrong  :-[ )

Thanks for any help you can give.
