Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Re: St Andrews, Epworth Marriage Please
« on: Wednesday 09 July 08 11:58 BST (UK)  »
Hello Andy,

As I've been searching Epworth for awhile I have a few Isle of Axholme Parish index.

These are the only entries I can find for Storeys in my books:

Eliza Storey dau. of William/Ann Bap. 2/May/1837  Fathers occ. Miller

William Storey Died Epworth buried 31/Dec/1867 age 56
Ann Storey Died Epworth buried 5/Jan/1853 age 35

This would mean that 1835 William would have been 32ish and Ann would have been 18ish
so they could be the couple

Hope this helps.

All the best, Anne.

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) / Inn keepers

Would anyone know if or where I could get a list of inn keepers/landlords from?
I have Joseph Anelay inn keeper at Balne, Yorkshire on the 1881 census.
It would be interesting to know which pub and if it's still there.

All the best, Anne.

Thanks Bee.

At the moment I have Ellen Rusby born in the June qua. 1869 at Thorne.
She had a daughter Edith 31st Oct. 1886 at Huddersfield.
In the June qua. 1888 at Thorne she married George Scholes.
On the 1901 census there is:
George 44yrs. born Hatfield Woodhouse
Ellen 33yrs. born Thorne
Edith 18yrs born Huddersfield.
Edith is now known as Scholes and is a boot keeper but I think that may be book keeper.

On Edith's marriage certificate to my grandfather in 1906 her name is Edith Rusby Scholes.

My granddad was Isaac Coy son of Thomas William Coy
he was born in Crowle Isle of Axhome on the 21st. July 1884.

If anyone has a connection I would be delighted to hear from you. :)

All the best, Anne.

Lincolnshire / Re: Janneys anyone??
« on: Tuesday 08 July 08 09:44 BST (UK)  »
Hi Kaye,

In my husband's tree we have loads of Janneys back as far as the early 1800s. They are all around Crowle in the Isle of Axhomle.

Maybe another branch.

Anne.

Dear Cazay,

Thank you for the information it sounds like her, if she where Georges step-daughter that would explain a lot.
At least I've got a place to start now, thanks a million.

If you go to http://www.northlincs.gov.uk/NorthLincs/Leisure/libraries/ this puts you in touch with Scunthorpe Library and if you follow the links to family history the brilliant ladies in the research dep. will do a look up for you if you send in the online request form.
The first 30 minutes are free and as you have most of the details and dates it shouldn't take longer than that.
Good luck.

I am trying to fine out about my gran.
She was Edith Rusby Scholes born 31st Oct. 1886 at Thorne.
Dau. of George Scholes and Eliza?
She married my granddad Isaac Coy on 22nd. April at Thorne Parish Church. At this time she was living at Ellison Street, Thorne.
I think her father may have been born at Hatfield Woodhouse.

Thats all I know about her before her marriage so if anyone could fill in any japs that would be great.
Anne.
