The Stay Safe Board / Re: Will we be "free" on 21 June?

The thing is, we just cannot ignore this Indian Variant (Delta) is leading to many more infections. The initial delay is to collect more data and increase the vaccine rollout in the areas most affected.

It's a great shame that your holiday is getting cancelled, it must be very disappointing for you.

Welcome to RootsChat!  :)

What range of years are you looking for them, roughly, and what details are you looking for?

Barry,

You've lost me there.  :-[

Incidentally, we had a very interesting time some years back in Salt Lake City, going to RootsTech, and having a meeting with FamilySearch in the LDS headquarters (The Church Office Building). Amazing views from the top too.

The Stay Safe Board / Re: what's so special about India?
« on: Wednesday 12 May 21 09:37 BST (UK)  »
I don't know why people are getting so worked up about the situation in India.
Since the pandemic began the country has reported 174 deaths per million,
which is fewer than die from all causes in five days.
Many countries -- including the UK -- have recorded ten times as many.

I believe the reason why we are getting "so worked up about the situation in India" is because of the absolute number of lives being lost. It's not a case of looking at "deaths per million", it's a case of looking at deaths. Compassion for humanity, our fellow brothers and sisters in this grieving world.

England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales each have their own Covid-19 policies, restrictions and safeguards in place, according to the devolved powers in the United Kingdom.

I find it hugely encouraging that there were no Covid-19 deaths in England, Scotland or Northern Ireland.

It sounds as if your web browser has gone into a full-screen mode or something like that. If you let us know what sort of web browser you are using, and what operating system you are using then we might be able to figure it out for you.

But the BBC website this morning reports 4 deaths on 10 May, bringing the total to 127,609  :-\ :-\

Correct, but those four deaths were not in England, Scotland or Northern Ireland.
