London and Middlesex / St Botolphs churchyard
« on: Saturday 11 April 20 17:46 BST (UK)  »

I am looking for the death and, or burial of Richard Hannam. He has become a very high and solid brick wall to me.
A brief history I located him in St James's Street Westminster through to poll tax books and established that he had had his shop there from about 1774 till about 1785 which seems to be when he retired. his wife was called Elizabeth ? date of marriage ?. I can find nothing about where Richard came from before he had his shop. the info that I do have is the names of all his children, dates of  their birth and Baptism but little else he is just a mystery.

What I have found which may help is a burial in Aldgate Middlesex Saint Botolphs Parish which states that he or someone with a similar name died in 1822  and was born 1732  which makes him the ripe old age of 90 which is a good age for those times and I would like to rule it in or out.

The problem that I have is that the surname on the burial has the name  spelt H?Pman  which I assume is erosion. which is a good likeness for his name but I would like more proof that it is him, the dates would fit but again the are only estimates based on the ages of his children, born from 1758 to 1769 in St James Westminster.

If anyone can suggest a course of action or any thing else it would be appreciated I do not seem to be able to turn up any info on aldgate cemetery.

Cancelled due to error all living people

The attached photo has recently come into my possession and I wondered if anyone could shed any light on who they are and what is happening. I know very little about the photo except,

The man on the left is Bernard Lee Collins who died aged 67 in Dec 1956 and worked at Samuel Osborn Steels in Sheffield as a Metallurgist.

I wondered if it could be some sort of retirement do in 1954, the clothes look about right other than that I am stuck.

Does anyone recognise any of the other two men or have any suggestions at all please
