I am researching my family in particular, 

Richard Hannam Snr b 1793 d 16 Jan 1838 at Retford,
Ann Hannam (His wife)  b abt 1757 d 10 Dec 1828 at Retford,
Richard Hannam Jnr (his son) b 1760 d 14 Jan 1856 at Retford.

The two Richards were prominent Solicitors in the town and Richard Snr was involved in some scandal to do with the elections around 1830.
 I would hope that there would have been an obituary or death notice for them in the local paper. My question is; what local papers were around at the time, do they survive, and if they do where are they?

One other question where are the Diocesan records for St Michael's kept?

I have a 2nd Greatgrandfather James Lee b 1827 in Barnsley Yorks, Married a Mary Thornley Apr 1848 in Barnsley. They had 8 children 2 of which were born  while he was working in Tampere Finland ( I have the Baptism detailsfrom Tampere ) in the weaving industry ( he was a Power Loom Operator by trade ).

The nearest I can place him in Finland is between Sept 1856 the birth of his son James Jnr in Barnsley and Sept 1865, the birth of his daughter Alice on his return from Finland.

I am trying to find more information about why and what he was doing there and what was exported with him.
I know it is a long shot but can anyone help??

The Hannam family lived in Clixby Manor between 1820 and its sale in about 1851. It was eventually demolished around 1961. I have been trying to locate a photo or picture of the manor without any luck can anyone help please, Thanks.

I am trying to find the parents of my 4th G Grandmother  Martha Collins c 9 May 1784 at Wednesbury Staffordshire I believe that they were John Collins b abt 1752 of Wednesbury and Ann Collins ( Maiden name I think ) b abt 1756 of Wednesbury beyond this I am at a brick wall.

Also what is meant by "Of" Wednesbury does it mean they lived there or were they born there?

I am looking for background and family info about a grandfather of mine a John Willson b abt July 1811 in Alford Lincs died 30 Oct 1889 in Alford but buried at Hogsthorpe St Mary's church. He married a Jane Brackenbury in Wainfleet on 31st March 1834 and then lived in Hogsthorpe.
He was an Auctioneer and valuer in Alford from  about 1830 till his death, I am looking for any info about him or his ancestors as I have hit a brick wall
