The Common Room / Can they just vanish?
« on: Sunday 06 April 14 11:23 BST (UK)  »
I have been going through some old wills for my family surname "Hannam" and have found a family of 4 siblings all born around the early 1700's who have just vanished. They are:-

John Hannam Died about 1742 (before Jacob)
Rebecca who married a Mr Johnston(e)
Jacob a Distiller from St John Zachary, London, who married Elizabeth (possibly Hawks) died about 1745 (after John)
James

This is all information that I can find from the wills. Then they seem to have vanish, I cannot find them on any of the records I have access to i.e. FindMyPast and Ancestry etc. any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks   Steve

Suffolk / Salter and Chinery families of Melford
« on: Wednesday 12 March 14 10:57 GMT (UK)  »
I have been researching the Salter Families of Melford and discovered several with the first name of CHINERY which seemed strange till I discovered that there was quite a large number of people in the area with the surname Chinery. I can only assume that at some point a Mr Salter married a Miss Chinery and that is how the Christian name came to be.
The last  Chinery Salter I can find was born in 1769 to parents John and Elizabeth. there I am stuck, I cannot find a marriage for them or a marriage between a Salter and a Chinery. Can anyone help please any offers would be appreciated.

Thanks  Steve

Warwickshire / Blackburn Plumb missing birth
« on: Sunday 02 March 14 11:30 GMT (UK)  »
I have a Blackburn Plumb married an Ann Whitehead 10 Nov 1754 at Halford Warwickshire and had 11 children between 1755 and 1775. Blackburn buried 7 Jan 1809 at Longdon.
I have managed to find all this but not his birth which I think was about 1720. Can anyone find him, I am wondering if he could have been born later looking at the dates? Any help would be appreciated.

Nottinghamshire / Our Lady and St Cuthberts (Priory) Worksop
« on: Saturday 23 November 13 19:43 GMT (UK)  »
I believe that I have several relatives buried in this cemetery. Looking on the maps it appears to cover rather a large area. Does anyone know if there has been any work done on recording the graves, or if a map of the graves exists or even if it is as big as it looks. any info would be appreciated.

       Thanks   Steve
