Hello again
Just watching your chatter you have puts new thoughts into my head
Could Frances be the Railway Servant, ??? would she have put her occ down ??? on Josephs birth , she seems to have landed on her feet after 1851 census, good for her
If Thomas was in prison what would he have done to get about 10 yrs ? one would have thought they would have sent  him out here as a convict,
Hannah looks like she died before 1851
Could Frances have been with one of her relos and gone by there last name ie Silcock ::)
Who would the best certificate to get Sophia birth 1853
Frances Death ? not sure of date :(
Thomas birth 1842-3
Thomas Death where was that  :(
B.D M in Aust give more info on the death than UK we get mother, father, where born, cause of death, and children, if the informant was a relative  or new family ( that could have helped here) Grateful for any help you you can give me to get further with my Smiths would be great if we can find all of the family in 1851
I found a Thomas 1851 census as Labourer in Prison Wakefield Yorkshire  b.1809 b. Lancashire
Thomas B.1806  Manchester , Soldier Wakefield Yorkshire
Thomas Oldham Butcher Manchester
All possibles but where is FRANCES :(

Hi Sandy
Yes I know what you mean , there is a mix.
The Thomas in Oldham Water Mill I thought there could have been wrong age written down as I cant find any of them for there there right age in the 1851 census born in Lancashire
Both Frances and Thomas where b. Manchester . Joseph was B. 1855 Peterbourgh Northamptonshire, Thomas b. 1842 Penepach Yorkshire. Frances and all her family except Thomas ( husband ) end up back in Manchester from 1861 census onward. Any thoughts  ??? Kaza

Hi
My source for Frances in 1855 was Thomas and Frances son Joseph b.1855 in ( your right  )" Peterborough Northamptonshire" on his birth certificate it said Thomas  Smith deaceced, Railway Servant
I found Frances B. 1816 Lancashire and Thomas B. 1811 Lancashire with daughter Hannah 8 months old on the 1841 Census in Lancashire
On the 1861 Census for Lancashire Civil Parish Hulme, Holy Trinity, Reg District Chorlton.  I found Fanny Smith B. 1818 Head, Beer Seller, sons Thomas B.abt 1843 Pantepach, Yorkshire, Joseph B.abt 1855 Peterborough, Northamptonshire , daughter Sophia B.abt 1853 Boston, Lincolnshire
On Frances Silcock and Thomas Smith Marrage in the church St Marys Manchester on the 5 May 1835 Thomas was a Butcher also on Josephs Marrage certificate Thomas  was a butcher
I was just guessing they would be in Northamptonshire in 1851 as Joseph was born there and Thomas must have died sometime in the 9 months before Joseph was born  I havent norrowed down Thomas's Death yet. Dose this make any better sence ??? hope you can help me get past my brickwall
Thanks Kaza
