This is just a guess but could "perphysia" (if it's handwritten) really be porphyria?

If you think it might be then the following site might help

Despite not having a problem with the red I did used to find in the wee small hours of the morning it started to blur ....I'll just have to stay up late tonight and test it out ;D

Meldrew - Please don't go  :'( :'( :'(

From the posts of yours I've come across you seem to be a cheerful chappy who is always willing to help, you'd be missed so please think again.

I don't know which post it is that has upset you but if it's appropriate you could advise a moderator on that board, or maybe a PM to the individual concerned to let them know how you feel as sometimes people do forget that their words can be taken at face value in a post when really there intended message is not anythingl like the words that appear on the screen ???

P.S. If I knew where you were I'd bring you round a nice cuppa tea and a few hobnobs to try and put the smile back on your face  ;D

P.P.S. Oh, Nearly forgot to say... Well Done on your presentation and for recruiting some new members  ;D

My rellies are all in cahoots ;D

They all say "no, sorry can't remember names, dates or details".

Then when presented with that information obtained through months of blood, sweat and tears they respond with "well now, didn't I tell you the story about......."

Bless them all but grrrrrrr too  ;D ;D ;D

"The house we live in now is new and has no history "

Sometimes the land on which an house stands does have an history, the site of a battle or settlement perhaps.

Oh I wish .........our house is built on what was farmland.... before it was farmed it was flat, muddy and splodgy and part of the flood defences of Somerset.....more widely known as the Levels  :o  I do sometimes question why we moved here  ::)

A couple of miles in any direction and you find masses of history, fascinating stories of times gone by and beautiful buildings etc. etc.  That'll have to do me until I can persuade hubby that it's about time we moved!!

Thanks Suey....a smilie and a gold star...I won't know what to do with myself  8)

On a serious note, I think it's what most of us are here help each other out on our travels through our family history!  I've had loads of help from kind hearted Rootschatters and it's a great feeling to be able to give something back ;D

Hi Joy,

No the references are for their deaths. The references are only applicable to the GRO so using the details I gave you on the three separate posts will enable you to order these men's death certificates from the address / telephone number included my the last post.

Applying to the GRO for the certificates you will probably need to give the full entry ie name, rank, number, unit, year. volume and page.

Tabitha  :)
