« on: Saturday 22 February 20 21:10 GMT (UK)  »
Greetings, searching for birth info on Samuel Carter, possibly born at Stratton on the Fosse ~1710, as well as any info on his siblings.  Samuel Carter married Mary Flower at nearby Chewton Mendip on 5 Feb 1732.

Samuel's possible father is a Samuel Carter, baptized at Stratton on the Fosse 24 Sept 1671. Samuel Carter the elder died at Stratton on the Fosse 11 Jan 1740/1.  I am missing Samuel the elder's wife's name.  Samuel the elder had a number of siblings also baptized at Stratton on the Fosse.

Armagh / Matchett family
« on: Friday 27 December 19 01:25 GMT (UK)  »
Greetings, I am searching for any information (parents, siblings) on Samuel Matchett, thought to have been born in Co Armagh in ~1812.   I believe that his wife's name was Elizabeth.

Family information indicates that Samuel and Elizabeth had five children born in Co Down (Tullylish?)between 1840 and ~1855. Their names include: Elizabeth, George Alexander, Sarah Jane, Margaret, and Isabella.

It appears that Samuel was a farmer and the family lived in Tullylish, Drumaran between 1863 and 1902. The 1901 Ireland census info that shows Samuel Matchett (88, b at Co Armagh), head, widower, farmer, living at Tullylish, Drumaran, Co. Down, with daughter Margaret Matchett (52, b in Co. Down), not married, and grand-daughter Florence Calder (13, b in Co. Down).  Samuel was buried (age 89) at Tullylish/Drumaran, (Banbridge Dist) Co. Down, N. Ireland Sept qtr 1902.

thank you for your time and assistance.

Greetings, I am searching for the correct spelling of a hamlet located in the former parish of Llanwenarth Ultra, Monmouthshire.  I am having difficulty deciphering the writing from my gr. grandfather's birth registration dated 1842.  The writing suggests "Tufnell" or "Tuswell".

Many thanks for the assistance.

Monmouthshire Lookup Requests / Thomas Parrott, Bassalleg, Rogerstone
« on: Monday 24 July 17 05:01 BST (UK)  »
Greetings, looking for any information on Thomas Parrott, born at Celyetty (sp?) Monmouthshire ~1783, and his family. The birth place is suggested from the 1851 Bassalleg, Rogerstone census.  The 1851 census information indicates that he was married, agricultural labourer, living at Pwll Coch, Bassalleg, hamlet of Rogerstone, with wife Elizabeth (60, b at Llanbadock, Monmouths), son Abel Parrott (36, b at Mamhilad, Monmouthshire), widower, agr labourer, and grandchildren: Charlotte Parrott (13, b at Mymelad (sp?), Monmouths), John (10, b at Mymelad (sp?), Monmouths), and William (5, b at Mymelad (sp?), Monmouths).

A search of FreeReg suggests Thomas may have been born ~1783 and living in Mamhilad, Monmouthshire between 1803 and 1813, as three children (of Thomas and Elizabeth Parrott) are baptised between these dates: Anne, baptised 3 Oct 1803; Abel, baptised 10 Jan 1810; and Mary, baptised at Mamhilad, Monmouths 20 Dec 1813.

thanx for your time and assistance,
cheers,
