Bedfordshire / Hannah WALTON
« on: Sunday 30 January 05 10:08 GMT (UK)  »
To date, I have always thought my Gt Gt Gt Grandmother, Hannah came
from Marston Moretaine in Bedfordshire as her place of birth on all
the census records from 1851 to 1881 state place of birth as "Marson",
Bedfordshire.

There is a christening for a Hannah WALTON, dau. of William & Mary,
on the IGI for 13 October 1811 at Marston Moretaine which is in the right
time frame and ties in with the name of her 1st born, William Walton
CAWTHORN..
Hannah would have married my Gt Gt Gt Grandfather, Joseph CAWTHORN of
Emneth, NR. wISBECH in about 1830-1833, as their first child, William **Walton**,  was baptised at Upwell St Peter's on 14 August 1834 + their next 2 children in 1836 & 1840.

Apart from the above baptisms, the earliest record I have of Hannah & Joseph is the 1841 census, where they are at Flinthouse Drove, Three Holes, Upwell.

BUT I cannot find any trace of their marriage - this is one of my brickwalls - so is anyone else researching WALTON from marston Moretaine??  As I'd love to hear from you  :)

Cambridgeshire / Re: Who Are You Researching?
« on: Tuesday 07 December 04 22:03 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I started out 5 years ago on my maternal line just out of curiosity, but I have since discovered, like a lot of fellow researchers, that it is so addictive that I go off in all directions at the drop of a hat, and can never resist just taking a peek at that extra new line, and off I go again in that direction, so I can't ever imagine anyone, with a real interest only doing one line. It couldn't be!!!!!!!!!!!!! if you find a new name you JUST HAVE to follow it, don't you?
OR AM I JUST A SAD ADDICTED GENEALOGIST?

I know just what you mean :)   I started out in 1999 meaning only to research my father's family; now, I am researching all lines as new info comes to light and have a website to prove it :)

Have fun and keep up the good work - and remeber:
"Only a genealogist regards a step BACKWARD as PROGRESS!"

Regards.  Ann.
