Lancashire / Re: Emily Wheeler

Hi. Sorry I wasn't a bit clearer. Yes I know it doesn't show where someone is born on the marriage certificate, as we do have the certificate. I'm pretty sure however that Charles Young married Emily just in case he died in the war as she would have been left destitute with the children, having no claim as she wouldn't have been married. No she wasn't a widow, she was shown as spinster on the cert. And on my father's birth certificate she is shown as Emily Young, formerly, Wheeler, although I'm sure they werern't married at that time even though there were nine children in all. I think it's possible Emily may have had children before she met Charles, but have no way of finding out. I know they separated when he came back from the army, as Charles brought my father and two of his siblings to Salford in Lancashire in the 1920s. I don't know the names of any of the others apart from my two Aunts, Joanna and Ellen, who came to Salford with him. We can also find no record of Joanna's birth although we know when she was born. It is possible that the other children weren't Charles' children, but we don't know. My father's twin sister Dorothy died in the same year she was born, just a few weeks or months old. They were born 29 July 1909 at 38 Avon Street, Walcot, Bath, Somerset. Really sorry for the confusion. Thanks though for getting back to me.

Hi
Sorry - UK marriage certs do not contain any info as to where a person was bornQuoteWe know from this certificate that Charles was born in Liverpool
How do you know?
I'm a bit puzzled about the dates you give above. You say they married in 1914 but that the twins were born in 1909? Were they Emily's children from a previous marriage or illegitimate?
How old was Emily on the marriage cert and what was her fathers name. Is she shown as a widow?
