Scotland / Wills & Testaments

Morning

I have found a Testament for one of my ancestors on Scotland's People although I am having difficulty reding it and making any sense of it. Can anyone advise me if there is any place I can send it to to get deciphered or look at a clearer copy?

Angus (Forfarshire) / Angus Census Help

Hi All

I would very much appreciate any help on the following, if possible:

James Milne - baptised 1815 in Menmuir, Angus - married to Agnes Dargie.
He appears on the 1871 Census in Kingsmuir, Angus and the 1881 Census in Forfar. I can't however find any trace of him on the 1841, 1851 or 1861 census. Does anyone have any suggestions?

He has a daughter born in 1843 in Rescobie, Angus.

Hi All

One of my ancestors appears to have died at 59 Wellgate Dundee in 1886. As I have no other Dundee connections I have checked to see what was at 59 Wellgate Dundee and all I can find is a photographers!?

Are there any Dundee experts out there that could advise me?

Afternoon, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Alexander Robertson married Agnes Rait in 1786 in Errol. I am struggling desperately to find a death for Alexander Robertson. On his marriage record it says he was from the parish of St Madoes. I have found 1 Alexander Robertson born in St Madoes in 1769 but this would mean he married at 17?! No sign of a death anywhere?

Hi Folks

I have a large number of ancestors (Robertson's) who have lived in and worked in Errol, particularly Woods of Murie between 1800 -1880's. I know where this is but was wondering if anybody had any idea where I could find out some information about Woods of Murie and its history?

Hi All

I am looking for a John Robertson - born 1840 in Errol. He is in Errol for the 1841 & 1851 census'. He married in 1867 in Meathie, Angus and he is still in Angus area for the 1871, 1881 census. He obviously moved from Errol to Angus and I would love to find him on the 1861 census but don't know where to begin as it is a common name. He worked in farming all his life so i'm guessing he moved from Errol to Angus for work.

Any ideas would be welcome.

Hi All

For three decades I had ancestors live on the main Dundee to Perth Road close to Errol. (mid 19th century) According to the census they lived next to a post office and Pitroddie Manse. I have been to visit Pitroddie Manse and was wondering if anyone knew where I could find any info about the old post office or any photos etc.
