Lancashire / WW1 Army Records - Thomas Price Hulme Manchester
« on: Wednesday 03 December 08 21:15 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find out how Great Grandad THOMAS PRICE died. He married in 1902 @ St Stephens Hulme, MCR  to Mary Ann STONE. Thomas was dead in 1926 when his son, also Thomas,
( my grandad ) married Margaret ALMOND @ St George`s Church, Hulme, MCR.
I have discovered an entry in the WW1 Roll of Honour concerning a THOMAS PRICE who joined the 8th Lancs Fusiliers in Sept 1914 but died in Cairo 8/4/1915. This Thomas PRICE`s home address was given as 14 LORD STREET, HULME, MCR which is the same street my dad was born and a street that features again in my family tree.
How can I find out the next of kin to Thomas who died in WW1 so i can confirm him as my great grandad ??? Any ideas welcome.........thanks

I have traced my family back to 1906 living in the St George / Hulme area of Manchester.

My Grandad was born at 14 Camden Street, Hulme and my Grandmother at 35 Foster Street, Hulme.

Does anyone have family living in the area at this time or pictures / maps etc ?

My Grandad was a PRICE and his Dad ( my Great Grandad ) worked as a " Labourer at Dye Works"

My Grandmother was an ALMOND and her Mother was a BARNES. My Grandad ( ALMOND ) worked as a " Sewerage Labourer ".

I have ideas what both Grandad`s jobs were but if anybody that can shed light on their actual jobs would be great.

I have just started tracing my family tree and I am having problems already getting past my great grandad......my grandad Thomas Price was born in 1906 and at the time of his marriage in 1926 his wedding certificate shows that his dad, my great grandfather also Thomas, was deceased. I know my great grand father`s wife started a relationship with another male after his death and they had a son.
My dad and his 7 brothers and sisters dont know their grandmother`s name or how their grandfather, my great grandfather Thomas Price died !!!
My local registry office can`t find my grandad Thomas`s birth certificate because I only have his DOB and dad`s name, not his mother`s name.

I have found some relevant hits on the 1891 census for my great gandfather but without his age / dob i am struggling to confirm details...

Can anyone offer me advice how to get my grandads birth certificate and how i can progress that info to get my great grand dads birth certificate too...Thanks
