I believe my great grandfather Thomas Price, possibly PVT 2519 Thomas Price, died on service in Egypt in 1915.
He had 2 sons at the time of his death.
His wife Mary Ann remarried in 1917.
Would she have been entitled to a pension and if so will records exist anywhere??

Lancashire / HULME Archaelogical Dig - March 2012

For those of you interested Manchester Metro University are conducting an archaeological dig on Birley Fields in Hulme beginning in March.
The site is to be built over and they are taking the chance to conduct the dig for the last time.
Jacksons Farm ( pre 1850 ) followed by Industrial Revolution slum housing stood here before it became a brown field site after WW2.
I`ve volunteered to help out for a couple of days as my family come from that area so for those of you interested ill update in March !!!

I am trying to find a birth for my great x 3 grandfather John Price
John married in Manchester on 8th December 1850 and gave his age as 37 and occupation as Bricksetter and his father as also being called John ( Labourer).
On the 1851 census he gives his place of birth as Pershore.
I want to identify his date of birth and identify both his parents if possible,
Can anyone help or advise me how to track down records in person if I were to visit Pershore.

I am trying to find out if a John Price based at Portland Barracks Devon in 1901 Census is a relative....the John Price I am looking for was born Hulme Manchester around 1883 and I cant find him in Manchester in 1901 census.......His father was also John Price......any suggestions welcome
