Lancashire Lookup Requests / Help Wanted - Thomas Price 1901 Census
« on: Friday 08 January 10 22:21 GMT (UK)  »
Can anybody help me or advise me re the 1901 census and my great grandfather Thomas Price born Hulme October 1878 to John and Winifred Price ( nee Foy)
Thomas had a brother John born c 1883 and a sister Margaret A Price born c 1888.
Thomas married Mary Ann Stone in 1902 and they feature on the 1911 census.
I believe Thomas b 1878 was a territorial force member when he joined up in 1914 at the outbreak of WW1 ( PVT 2519 Thomas Price).
I cannot find Thomas b1878 in the 1901 census for some reason....i cant find his brother John b 1883 although I have a possible serving in the Army based down south...I cant find Margaret A or their parents John & it common that a lot of poorer people just didn't fill in the census..i am trying to understand especially Thomas b 1878 where he was in 1901 ??  As I said any help or advice really welcome...thanks ;)

Worcestershire / Pershore circa 1813
« on: Saturday 05 December 09 11:52 GMT (UK)  »
Can anybody offer information about the Pershore area circa 1813.
I have traced my great x 3 grandad John Price born Pershore c 1813 who by 1850 was living in Manchester remarrying to a Mary Whitehead.
John was shown as a widower at the time of this marriage and census records from 1851 state he was born Pershore and his father was also John ( my great x 4 grandfather).
Was Pershore a registration district or is it likely John would have been born in the village of Pershore...??  What records will still exist down there to help me progress further???

Any help advice appreciated...thanks
