Hello....If you were listed as a ship steward living in Toxteth Park, Liverpool with possible occupation dates from 1898 to 1921, what named companies of ships were sailing out of the port of Liverpool between these dates.

Is there any form of official employment record/log book did an employee have to carry with him and are these kept at any archives anywhere ?

Cumberland / 1901 Census search for John Simpson...

Please help with our frustrating search for JOHN SIMPSON born Crosthwaite Cumberland 1869.

John married Mary Catharine Gorstige 13/1/1889, they were living at 1 Park Street, Toxteth Park, Liverpool, father recorded as John Simpson, General Lab, deceased.

In the 1891 he is living with his wife and daughter Mary Francis Simpson, and when recording in daughter Elsie Catherine's birth he listed himself as being an employed dock labourer.

By the time time his eldest daughter married on 20/4/1921 he was recorded as a ships steward but was also deceased by this time.

Please could you help us try and locate John in the 1901 if he is not at sea.

   Please could someone kindly confirm by looking DIRECTLY AT THE PARISH TRANSCRIPTS that Joseph Cass married Mary Graham on 19th August 1802 at Isel, Cumberland.
We have conflicting places on marriage from the I.G.I and ancestry, so would like to ascertain the correct parish.

Hi All...We are struggling to find Joseph Cass mother.

Joseph was born 1811 in Eaglesfield

We have purchased his marriage certificate in Wigton 1838, his father is also named Joseph, occupation husbandsman.

It seems that Joseph senior died before 1841 census, for which we have found two possible deaths.

 Can anyone guide us in the right direction or has any connection with the family.

Hi, have spent all day trawling the GRO indexes on Ancestry and need fresh eyes.

Can anyone find a Garwood / Cartwright marriage.

I have a birth for a Reginald Garwood <mothers maiden surname Cartwright> born 1916 Scarborough now deceased, but links with Newcastle also.
