Hi Gadget,

Thankyou so very, very much for everything you have done for me today and to all the other people who read my sad story. You are a Godsend. I would like to say thanks to a friend who told me to try Rootschat, I am so pleased.
Thanks again

Hi Stan,
I have done everything you said in your reply to my problem and it doesn't work. I think Vista is the problem.
I only registered with Rootschat today and I am amazed at the help I have been offered, thanks to everyone.
Tomorrow I will try to follow the advice posted to me by 'Gadget' originally from 'downside' in january to 'ranaridibunda' who had exactly the same problem and eventually got her CDs to load.
Thanks to everyone this is a super site.

Thanks that would be great if you can find something. I actually only bought the laptop to use at Family History beginners workshops which we run from time to time. I 've not so far heard a good word about Vista, most people want to stick with XP.

Yes it is the first time I've had a computer with Vista. Previously I had Windows 98 SE and now I have XP. Both sets of CDs loaded with no problems. I think I have had them sice the late 1990's

I have a Fuijitsu Seimens laptop. AMILO Li 2727. Intel Celeron Dual Core T1400 processor. 120 GB hard drive 1GB of RAM. Windows Vista
I cannot get it to load the 1881 Census CDs or the Vital records. I get this message:-
Run time error 339 Component RFVOL~1.0CX or one of its dependencies not correctly registered a fil is missing or invalid.
I have loaded these CDs onto every computer I have owned since the CDs came out, without any trouble.
Can anyone help
