Wellington is a town in Tamil Nadu, India, and a popular hill station for the British forces in the 1940's.  The "Hastings Holiday Home" was a single storey barracks with accommodation for up to a thousand troops on leave.

Thank you I would never have found that out.

Looks like the record of either a Nurse or Medical Stores Clerk.

Hi Ross

Thank you so much.  He was an Aircraftsman Motorised Transport Mechanic, sorry for the confusion.

I'll add more attachments, I hope this is helpful

Armed Forces / Help with 1940's service record please?
« on: Tuesday 24 August 21 02:01 BST (UK)  »
Hello

This RAF service belongs to a lady who will be 90 this year :) , it is about her family member (who is deceased).  I'm trying to find out what it all means for her, as she's never known how to.

I've looked up acronyms and meanings but there is so much I still can't find or even read the handwriting.

I would be really grateful if anyone can help me please?  I've added a scan of part of the record below, and also my attempt so far. Please let me know if there is a better way for me to share this data to make it easier. Would it be beneficial to share the whole record. Thank you

Angelfish

Thank you. I emailed the archives and they confirmed I can't view the records (understandable) but can pay for them to research.

Has anyone successfully viewed the admission and discharge registers for Axwell Park School held by Tyne and Wear Archives please?

I've tried searching the newspapers on Find My Past but nothing comes up for the boys name. Axwell Park School comes up a lot about boys being sent there. The articles say why but not the name of the family. Which is best I suppose but not for me trying to find out about him!
