Worcestershire / best way to search for a death?
« on: Tuesday 28 April 09 11:05 BST (UK)  »
I`m trying to find the death of an ancestor born in 1863 in Upton Warren but not with her family on the 1871 census. According to Familysearch she was baptised as Ann Medlar 5/4/1863, but she was registered as Ann Madeley.  On other occasions this family is listed as `Medler`, `Meadle`, `Meadley`and `Medley`!
Is there any quick way of finding Ann`s death, or am I going to have to search through all the M`s between 1863 and 1871?

Many thanks,          Jane

p.s.  I think the death would probably have been registered in Droitwich district

Thanks Donna - That`s a bit earlier than I need at the moment, but I might come back to you at some point if that is ok.

Thanks very much everyone - I`m in Stratford so I think Worcester Family History centre will be my best bet.

Does anyone know if it is possible to access the parish records for births in Old Swinford on-line?  Failing that, where are they stored? (I`m trying to find information for the 1820s and 30s)

Many thanks,             Jane

Very Sorry everyone - I made a major error on my original post - have amended it now - should have said that I last found him in 1861 and can`t find his death between 1861 & 1871 (serves me right for trying to post a message early in the morning!).
Thanks though to everyone for your comments - I had thought my best bet might to try to find more about Leonard`s entry into the Infant Orphan Asylum so it`s useful to have a link for that. I think they were quite fussy about who they admitted so I think would have checked if the father was still alive.
Incidentally Amelia did marry again in 1873 - to the innkeeper who was working for in 1871!

I`m trying to find out what happened to Alfred William Boardman born 1837 Kennington, London. I can`t find him after 1861 when he was in the Isle of Wight.  By 1871 his wife Amelia is described as a widow but I`ve searched all the Boardman deaths between 1861 & 1871 and can`t find him.  He was a musician and seems to have travelled around the country so I`m wondering if he may have died overseas.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Thanks Fizzy,  is their surname spelt differently?  I`m searching on Ancestry and still can`t find them

I`m looking for Susan or Susannah Tilt born 1829 Bromsgrove.  In 1841 she was with her parents Joseph (button maker) & Mary & brother William in Bromsgrove.  She married in Upton Warren in 1854 and was then described as a servant.
Any help would be much appreciated
