LM so sorry to hear you’ve tested positive, what a shame after such a lovely week last week. I hope you don’t feel too bad and wish you a speedy recovery.

That’s great. That’s what I love about this hobby once new piece in the jigsaw can open up so many more lines of research.

I did a quick search to see if there were any military records for John Owen but didn’t find anything obvious.

Our wonderful Canadian RC friends have helped me a great deal over the years, even tracking down uncle George Smith who I thought would stay a mystery forever.

It looks as if Alice Maude and husband Eustace Russell may have gone to Australia.  Their son William Coxon  Russell died aged 23 in WW2.

I actually bought it because it seemed good value for the items it included rather than the fact it was an Advent calendar.  I haven’t had one of those since I was a child, just the sort with a nativity scene and glitter on the front with nothing more than little pictures behind the windows but I still thought they were magical in those days. 😉

So far I have been pretty fortunate and apart from a sore arm have not reacted very much to previous jabs so thought I’d risk it. I think for those that have felt quite poorly in the past it is probably wiser to separate them.

Decided to treat myself to the M&S Beauty Advent Calendar today.  Not as easy as it should have been as you had to spend £30 to get the calendar.  One of the items I bought towards the qualifying spend was actually in the sale so I added another item to make it up only to find that sale items didn’t count towards to qualifying spend at all.  Nearly gave up at this point but sorted it in the end.  Very unpopular with the people behind me in the queue I’m sure.

So the next big decision is do I wait until December to start opening the boxes or shall I follow Roobarb’s lead 😁.
